I'm having trouble creating videos using AI by feeding multiple images for the AI to generate. I used to be able to do it normally, but now I can't, and Caps Cut keeps saying it can't create a video. So I've lost everything I've worked on.
Hi Mary,
When CapCut suddenly can’t generate AI videos from multiple images, it is usually one of these:
1. Recent CapCut update broke the feature
CapCut frequently updates its AI Video / Image-to-Video tools.
-
Some updates temporarily disable multi-image input
-
Others change file size, count, or resolution limits
-
Old projects can become incompatible
This is very common and not your fault
2. Cloud / AI server failure - not your device
If you see messages like:
-
“Cannot create video”
-
“Generation failed”
-
“Try again later”
That usually means:
-
CapCut’s AI servers are overloaded
-
Your account temporarily lost access to that AI feature
-
Region-based restrictions kicked in
3. Image input rules quietly changed
Even if it worked before, CapCut may now require:
-
Same resolution for all images
-
Fewer images (often max 8–12)
-
JPG/PNG only (no WEBP / HEIC)
-
No transparent backgrounds
-
Smaller file sizes
One “bad” image can kill the whole render.
4. App cache corruption which is very common
This causes:
-
Failed exports
-
AI tools refusing to start
-
Projects appearing “lost” but actually hidden
First: try to recover your lost project
Before doing anything drastic:
On mobile
-
Open CapCut
-
Go to Projects
-
Tap ⋮ (three dots) → Recover projects
-
Check Drafts / Cloud projects
On PC
-
Look here:
Even if CapCut says the project is gone, the files are generally still there.
Do not uninstall yet until we check this.
Fix checklist to do these in order:
1. Restart + clear cache
Mobile
-
Settings → Apps → CapCut → Storage → Clear cache (NOT data)
PC
-
CapCut → Settings → Clear cache
-
Restart CapCut
2. Test with a “clean” mini project
Create a brand-new project:
-
3 images only
-
Same resolution
-
JPG format
-
No effects, no music
If this works → your old project is the issue not AI itself
3. Check AI feature availability
Some AI tools in CapCut are now:
-
Account-limited
-
Region-locked
-
Paid-only
Try:
-
Switching CapCut account (Google / TikTok login)
-
Turning VPN off (important!)
-
Logging out → back in
4. Temporary workaround so you don’t lose progress
Until AI generation stabilizes:
-
Generate short clips (2–3 images at a time)
-
Export each clip
-
Combine clips manually in CapCut timeline
Not ideal but it saves your work.
We can help you further:
-
Help you rebuild the project safely
-
Suggest better AI video tools that accept multiple images reliably
-
Walk you through exact image prep so CapCut stops failing
-
Help recover files if you tell us mobile or PC + OS
Can you post this information as a reply to this thread:
Are you on mobile or PC?
What exact error message does CapCut show?
You didn’t do anything wrong this is a CapCut software side issue, and we can work around it
