Hi,

It is understandable that you are encountering issues subscribing to CapCut Pro in Beijing, even with a VPN. CapCut's availability and functionality can vary by region due to licensing agreements, local regulations, and recent geopolitical developments.

Here is a breakdown of why this might be happening:

It is likely that geographic restrictions and payment limitations are the primary reasons you are unable to access CapCut Pro, even with a VPN.

Reasons why a VPN might not be enough:

  • App Store/Region Lock: App subscriptions are often tied to the region of your app store account (Apple App Store or Google Play Store). Even if you use a VPN to appear as if you are in another country, your app store account might still be registered in a region where CapCut Pro subscriptions are restricted or unavailable. CapCut, like many apps, checks your app store account's region, not just your IP address.
  • Payment method restrictions: Payment methods are also often region-specific. If your payment method (credit card, debit card, etc.) is registered to a Chinese bank or billing address, CapCut might not accept it for a Pro subscription, even if you are using a VPN. CapCut's payment processing system may be designed to recognize and reject payments that don't align with the allowed subscription regions.
  • VPN detection and blocking: CapCut or its payment processors might have systems in place to detect and block VPN usage specifically for subscriptions. While VPNs can mask your IP address, sophisticated detection methods can sometimes identify VPN traffic.
  • Chinese regulations: The Chinese government has strict regulations on internet usage and online services. It is possible that these regulations directly or indirectly affect the availability of international app subscriptions within China, regardless of VPN usage. Certain Google services and app features may be restricted in China due to these regulations.

What you can try - with limitations:

  • App store account region change: See if this is an option for you, change the region of the app store account to a country where CapCut Pro is available. However, this can be complex, may violate app store terms of service, and might require a payment method from the new region. It is generally not recommended due to potential account issues.
  • Different VPN and location: While not guaranteed, you could try different VPN providers and server locations. Some VPNs might be better at bypassing geo-restrictions than others. Experiment with connecting through servers in countries where CapCut Pro is known to be available (like the US or Europe).
  • CapCut web version: Sometimes web versions have fewer geographic restrictions than mobile apps. Check if you can subscribe on CapCut web and then try login with this details on the CapCut app. This is a risky maneuver but you can give it a try. Note that, CapCut is primarily designed as a mobile app.
  • Try using different payment methods linked to regions where CapCut Pro is available.
  • Contact CapCut support: Reach out to [email protected]. Explain your situation and ask if Pro subscriptions are officially supported in China or if there are any workarounds they can suggest. However, be aware that they might confirm geographic restrictions are in place.

In summary, while VPNs can sometimes bypass geographic restrictions for general internet Browse, they are often less effective for app subscriptions due to app store region locks, payment method limitations, and VPN detection technologies. It s highly likely since CapCut Pro subscription is not available in China right now, VPN alone might not overcome these restrictions.

It is best to manage your expectations and explore alternative video editing workflows if a CapCut Pro subscription remains inaccessible in your region.
