Hi,

Manually copying and pasting every track title for a video mix in CapCut is indeed tedious.

Unfortunately, as of now (April 2025), CapCut does not have a built-in feature to automatically extract audio track titles (either from filenames or embedded metadata) and create corresponding text overlays in your video timeline.

CapCut is primarily focused on video and audio editing, not on extracting and utilizing file metadata in this specific way for text generation.

Why it's not possible directly in CapCut:

  1. No Metadata Reading for Text: CapCut doesn't have a function to read the "Title" tag or other metadata embedded within audio files (like MP3, M4A, etc.) and convert it into a text layer.
  2. No Filename-to-Text Function: Similarly, it can't automatically grab the filename of the audio clip you've placed on the timeline and turn it into text.
  3. Limited Automation/Scripting: Unlike some professional desktop editors, CapCut (especially the mobile version) doesn't offer scripting or automation capabilities that would allow users to create custom workflows like this.

Workarounds to Make it Less Painful:

While you can't automate it within CapCut, you can streamline the manual process:

  1. Prepare Your Title List Externally:
    • Use File Explorer/Finder: Open the folder containing your audio files on your computer or phone. Select all the files you're using. Often, you can copy the list of filenames directly (on Windows, select files, hold Shift, right-click, and look for "Copy as path"; on Mac, select files, right-click, hold Option, and choose "Copy 'items' as Pathnames"). Paste this list into a text editor (like Notepad, TextEdit, Notes).
    • Use a Metadata Editor: If your filenames are generic (e.g., "Track 01.mp3") but the actual song titles are stored in the file's metadata, use a dedicated tool (like MP3Tag (Windows), MusicBrainz Picard (Multi-platform), or even some media players like Foobar2000) to export the track titles into a text file. Here is how you do it:
      • Export the metadata info into a .csv or .txt file.
      • Open the file in Excel/Google Sheets and format them like:
        • Song 1 Title - Artist
        • Song 2 Title - Artist
      • Add timestamps if needed.
      • Now, go into CapCut → Text tool → paste each title at the right timestamp.
      • It’s still manual, but much faster since you're not switching between files.
  2. Streamline Copy-Pasting in CapCut:
    • Keep the List Handy: Have your text file with the ordered list of titles open on your computer screen (if using Desktop CapCut) or easily accessible on your phone (if using Mobile CapCut - perhaps in split-screen mode or a floating notes app).
    • Create a Text Preset: Style your first title text overlay exactly how you want it (font, size, color, position, animation).
    • Duplicate Text Layers: Instead of creating a new text layer each time, duplicate the existing, styled text layer on the timeline (select it, choose 'Copy' or 'Duplicate'). Drag the duplicate to the position of the next song.
    • Quick Edit: Select the duplicated text layer, tap/click to edit the text content, and quickly paste the next title from your prepared list.

This method still involves manual work, but preparing the list beforehand and using duplication within CapCut significantly speeds up the process compared to finding the filename/title and creating/styling text from scratch each time.

If you’re repeating the same animation style (like fade in/out or slide in), just copy and paste the keyframed text layer and change the text content only. This keeps the animation consistent and saves time.

So, while CapCut doesn't offer the automatic solution you're looking for, preparing your list externally and optimizing the copy-paste workflow within the app is the best approach currently available.
