Hi. I had a little problem with AppStore. I couldn’t download any free app because my billing information was not full since I’ve changed my card in AppStore because as it turned out, I did not add CVV to the payment information. And today I wanted to download an app and I found out that the reason why I couldn’t download any app was my incomplete billing information.
I didn't want to add a CVV because I had already been charged money for inactive subscriptions or for subscriptions that had already been paid. I read on the Internet that if the AppStore asks you to fill in the payment information when downloading a free app, it is safe, it will not charge money for anything. I added CVV and then in a second AppStore debited 6,99 for a CapCut Subscription, which was supposed to be debited off on March 13!!!! I renewed it recently.
And that's considering that I was going to cancel my subscription tomorrow because I won't be using capcut anymore. My money was just debited in advance. Solve this problem and give me my money back. It’s not the first time. Looking forward to feedback.
Hi,
Based on what you have described, in this situation Apple is generally responsible for refunds related to App Store purchases.
Apple's subscription renewal process can sometimes initiate charges before the actual renewal date to prevent service interruptions. This often occurs within 10 days prior to the subscription's expiration.
1. Immediately Contact Apple Support (Crucial):
-
Visit Apple's refund page:
- Navigate to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID.
-
Initiate a refund request:
- Click on "I'd like to," then select "Request a refund."
- Choose the reason for your refund request and click "Next."
-
Select the subscription:
- Find and select the CapCut subscription in question.
- Click "Submit" to send your request.
For more detailed information, refer to Apple's official support page on billing and subscriptions.
Canceling the Subscription:
If you no longer wish to use CapCut, you can cancel the subscription to prevent future charges:
-
Access your subscriptions:
- On your device, go to Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions.
-
Cancel the subscription:
- Select the CapCut subscription.
- Tap "Cancel Subscription" and confirm your choice.
For additional guidance on canceling subscriptions, visit Apple's support page.
2. Review Apple's refund policies:
- Familiarize yourself with Apple's refund policies for App Store purchases. You can find this information on Apple's support website mentioned above. Generally, they are more likely to grant refunds for accidental or erroneous charges, especially if it's recent.
3. Check your subscriptions list on your Apple account:
- Go to your Apple ID account settings (on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac) and find the list of your active subscriptions. Confirm that the CapCut subscription is indeed active and when the next billing date is scheduled (it should show March 13th, not today's date). Take a screenshot of this information.
4. Choose to appeal if the refund is not getting processed:
- If Apple initially denies your refund request you can appeal their decision. Explain the situation in more detail, emphasizing that the charge was premature and occurred immediately after updating your billing information for a free app download.
- Explain to Apple support that you were planning to cancel the subscription and that the charge was unexpected.
- If Apple Support is unable to assist, you can also contact CapCut's support team at [email protected]. Explain the situation and provide with the transaction details and screenshots which you have taken from the App store.
Usual causes for your problem:
- Billing system glitch: It's possible there was a temporary glitch in Apple's billing system that triggered the premature charge.
- CVV and immediate billing: While adding a CVV for a free app download shouldn't trigger a charge for an existing subscription, it's possible there was an unintended connection between the two actions.
Important things to consider:
- The sooner you contact Apple Support, the better your chances of getting a refund.
- Provide all necessary information and explain the situation clearly.
- Don't hesitate to appeal if your initial request is denied.
Please note that we cannot process any refunds in this forum as it is a matter directly connected with Apple and the CapCut app developers.
Therefore you will need to connect with the Apple Support team or the CapCut app developers directly using the links provided in this post.
