I am new to editing, and I am new to CapCut I need a way to airbrush out a logo. I have a video and on the wheel of the tire it has a Lexus logo. I would like to find a way to airbrush the logo out and match the color of the rest of the wheel

Hi,

Removing a logo from a video, such as the Lexus emblem on a car wheel, can be achieved using CapCut's editing tools. Here is a step-by-step guide to help you seamlessly blend the logo area with the rest of the wheel:

Method 1: Using the Blur effect with masking

  1. Import your video:

    • Launch CapCut and add your video to the timeline.
  2. Apply the Blur effect:

    • Navigate to the "Effects" tab.
    • Select the "Basic" category and choose the "Blur" effect.
    • Drag the "Blur" effect onto the timeline above your video.
  3. Mask the blurred area:

    • Click on the "Blur" effect in the timeline to access its settings.
    • Go to the "Mask" option and choose a shape that matches the logo area (e.g., circle or rectangle).
    • Adjust the mask's size and position to cover the logo precisely.
    • Feather the edges of the mask slightly to ensure a smooth transition with the surrounding area.
  4. Fine-Tune the effect:

    • Play back the video to ensure the blur covers the logo appropriately.
    • If the logo moves (e.g., due to wheel rotation), you'll need to keyframe the mask to follow its motion.
  5. Export the edited video:

    • Once satisfied with the adjustments, export your video.

Method 2: Covering the logo with a Sticker or Overlay

  1. Import your video:

    • Open CapCut and add your video to the timeline.
  2. Add a Sticker or Image Overlay:

    • Click on the "Stickers" tab to browse available options, or import a custom image that matches the wheel's appearance.
    • Drag the chosen sticker or image onto the timeline above your video.
  3. Position and resize the Overlay:

    • Select the overlay in the preview window.
    • Adjust its size and position to cover the logo seamlessly.
    • Use your finger to drag the sticker and position it directly over the Lexus logo on the tire wheel in your video preview.
    • Use two fingers to pinch and zoom on the sticker to resize it so it just covers the logo. You want it to be big enough to hide the logo completely, but not too much larger than necessary.
  4. Blend the Overlay:

    • To ensure the overlay matches the wheel's color and texture, adjust its opacity and apply color correction as needed.
    • Tap on the sticker in the preview window to make sure it's selected (you'll see a white outline around it).
    • In the bottom menu, look for options like "Style," "Edit," or "Adjust." Tap on one of these.
    • You should see a color palette. Look for a color picker tool (it might look like a dropper or a color wheel).
    • Use the color picker to sample the color directly from the tire wheel in your video preview. Tap the color picker icon, then tap on a part of the wheel next to the logo to select that color.
    • If the color isn't a perfect match, you can use the color palette to fine-tune it. You might need to make it slightly lighter or darker to blend in.
  5. Animate the Overlay if necessary:

    • Watch the video to see how the sticker looks as the wheel moves.
    • If the sticker moves off the logo or isn't quite covering it, pause the video and make small adjustments to the sticker's position and size.
    • If the wheel or logo moves, keyframe the overlay to follow the motion, ensuring consistent coverage.
    • If the logo moves a lot or the wheel rotates significantly, you might need to add a few stickers and adjust their positions at different points in the video to keep the logo covered throughout.
  6. Export the edited video:

    • After finalizing the edits, export your video.

Method 3: Using the "Draw" Feature

  1. Import Your Video:

    • Open CapCut and start a new project.
    • Import the video clip you want to edit.
  2. Look for "Draw" or "Canvas" options: In the bottom menu, see if you have a "Draw" or "Canvas" option. If you do, tap on it. (Note: If you don't see "Draw," this feature might not be in your version of CapCut, and Method 1 and Method 2 are your best bet).
  3. Select Brush and Color:

    • Choose a brush type (a solid, non-textured brush is best for this).
    • Use the color picker (like in earlier method) to select the color from the tire wheel.
  4. "Paint" over the Logo:

    • Use your finger to carefully paint directly over the Lexus logo in the video preview. Try to stay within the logo area and blend the edges with the surrounding wheel color.
    • You might need to paint in short strokes and lift your finger to get better control.
  5. Refine and adjust:

    • Undo/Redo: Use the undo button if you make mistakes.
    • Brush size: Adjust the brush size to get finer detail or to cover larger areas quickly.
    • Opacity: If there's an opacity setting for the brush, you can try lowering it slightly for a more subtle blend, but for covering a logo, you usually want full opacity.
    • Play and adjust: Play your video and refine your drawing as needed, just like with the stickers in earlier method.
  6. Export Your Video once you are done with earlier steps

Tips for better editing experience with CapCut:

  • Choose the right color: Take your time to get the color match as close as possible to the wheel. Slight variations in shade can be noticeable.
  • Keep it simple: For a beginner, the sticker method is usually the easiest and often gives good results for logos on wheels, especially if the wheel is relatively flat in the video.
  • Practice: Don't be afraid to experiment! Try both methods on a short section of your video first to get the hang of it before editing the whole clip.
  • Consider logo movement: If the wheel is spinning rapidly or the camera is moving a lot, covering the logo perfectly will be more challenging. Do your best to position and adjust your sticker or drawing for the most important parts of the video.

For a video demonstration of blurring a specific part of a video in CapCut, you might find this tutorial helpful:

CapCut has some great features that can help you cover up the Lexus logo on the tire wheel and blend it with the wheel's color.

Remember, achieving a natural look may require some experimentation with the blur intensity, mask settings, or overlay adjustments. Take your time to fine-tune the effect for the best results.
