Hi,

It looks like you are having trouble with the auto-captions feature on the CapCut desktop app for your Mac, even though it works correctly on your iPhone. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

Troubleshooting Steps:

Check for Updates:

  • Make sure you are using the latest version of the CapCut desktop app.
  • Open CapCut on your Mac.
  • Go to the settings menu, usually found in the upper right corner of the app's home page.
  • Look for an "Update" option next to the version number. If an update is available, click to install it.
  • Alternatively, you can check for updates in the Microsoft Store if you downloaded CapCut from there.

Restart Your Mac:

  • A simple restart can often resolve temporary software glitches.
  • Close the CapCut application completely.
  • Restart your Mac.
  • Once your Mac restarts, open CapCut again and try the auto-captions feature.

Reinstall CapCut:

  • If restarting doesn't work, try reinstalling the CapCut app.
  • Uninstall CapCut from your Mac.
  • Download the latest version of CapCut from the official CapCut website or the App Store and reinstall it.

Clear App Data/Cache:

  • Corrupted app data can sometimes cause issues. Clearing the cache or app data might help.
  • Go to Settings > Apps > CapCut > Storage on your Mac. (Note: The exact path might slightly vary depending on your macOS version).
  • Look for options to "Clear Data" or "Clear Cache" and select them.
  • Alternatively, for macOS, you might need to delete the app and its associated files manually from the Application Support folders in your Library.

Check Device Compatibility & Storage:

  • Ensure your Mac meets the minimum system requirements for CapCut. Also, make sure you have enough free storage space on your Mac, as insufficient space can sometimes cause app malfunctions.

Try CapCut Online Version:

  • As a workaround, you can try using the online version of CapCut in your browser to generate auto-captions.
  • Go to the official CapCut website.
  • Look for the "Online Editor" or "CapCut Web" option and use the web-based video editor.
  • Import your video and try generating auto-captions online.

If the issue persists:

  • Network Connection: Ensure you have a stable and good internet connection, as auto-captioning relies on network connectivity to process speech-to-text.
  • Video/Audio Quality: Poor audio quality in your video can affect the accuracy of auto-captions. Make sure the audio is clear and without excessive background noise.
  • Check Language Settings: Confirm that the language settings in CapCut match the language spoken in your video. Mismatched settings can lead to incomplete or inaccurate captions.

If none of these steps work, there might be a specific bug in the desktop version of CapCut for macOS. You can try contacting CapCut technical support at [email protected].
