Hi,

Adding clickable links directly within a video using CapCut isn't supported, as video files themselves don't inherently support clickable elements. However, you can guide viewers to external content by incorporating visual cues in your videos and utilizing platform-specific features upon uploading. Here's how you can approach this:

1. Incorporate Visual Cues in Your Video:

  • Add Text or Graphics: You can absolutely add text to your video that displays a web address (URL) or gives instructions. Examples:

    • Displaying the URL: www.capeditcut.com

    • Call to action: "Link in bio!", "Find us at [website name]", "Search for [product name]"

  • Include QR Codes: Generate a QR code that directs to your desired URL and overlay it onto your video using CapCut. Viewers can scan the QR code with their devices to access the link. Ensure the QR code is clear and remains on screen long enough for viewers to scan.

2. Utilize Platform-Specific Features After Uploading:

Clickable functionality associated with videos is always handled by the platform where the video is hosted and viewed, not by the video editor itself.

  • YouTube:

    • Video Descriptions and Comments: After uploading your video to YouTube, include clickable links in the video description or pin a comment with the link. This approach makes it easy for viewers to access additional content or resources.

    • Cards and End Screens: YouTube allows creators to add cards and end screens that can link to other videos, playlists, or approved external websites. Utilize these features to guide viewers to related content or your website.

  • TikTok:

    • Profile Bio Links: TikTok permits adding a clickable link in your profile bio. In your video, prompt viewers to visit your profile and click the link for more information.

    • TikTok Shop: If applicable, you can tag products directly in the video.

    • In-Video Text Prompts: Use CapCut to add text overlays directing viewers to the link in your bio or to search for specific content.

  • Instagram (Reels/Posts):
    • Link in Bio: Similar to TikTok, direct users to the link in your profile bio using text overlays in your CapCut edit.
    • Story Links: Instagram Stories have a dedicated "link sticker" feature.

    • Product Tags: You can tag products if you have an Instagram Shop set up.
  • Other Platforms (Facebook, Websites, etc.):
    • Usually, you'll put the clickable link in the post text accompanying the video.

3. Considerations:

  • Platform Policies: Be aware of each platform's policies regarding external links. Some platforms may restrict certain types of links or have guidelines on how and where you can include them.

  • User Experience: Ensure that any visual cues or prompts are clear, concise, and do not obstruct the main content of your video. The goal is to enhance viewer engagement without causing distraction.

You use CapCut to create the visual part of your video, including adding text that shows a URL or tells people where to click (like "link in bio"). Then, you use the features of the platform where you upload the video (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, etc.) to add the actual clickable elements.

While CapCut doesn't support embedding clickable links directly within videos, combining in-video visual prompts with platform-specific linking features can effectively guide your audience to external content.
