i have downloaded the latest capcut version 5.3.0. using the latest stable version 5.1.0 also did not work. PLEASE HELP.
Hi,
We understand it is frustrating when uploads don't work, especially for several days. Based on the screenshot you provided, the upload of your project "vlog - bdg-FINAL" is stuck at 0KB out of 15.75GB. This points to an issue with initiating the connection or the initial file transfer handshake.
Here are several steps you can try to troubleshoot this CapCut Space upload problem:
-
Check Your Internet Connection:
- Stability: A stable connection is crucial for large uploads (15.75GB is quite large). Even brief interruptions can cause the upload to fail or stall. Run a speed test (like Ookla Speedtest) to check your upload speed and connection stability.
- Try a Different Network: If possible, try uploading using a different Wi-Fi network or even a mobile hotspot to rule out issues specific to your current network.
- Restart Router/Modem: Sometimes a simple restart of your network equipment can resolve temporary glitches.
- Try uploading at a different time with a stronger connection.
- Or, compress the video file (e.g. using HandBrake or export in lower bitrate).
-
Restart CapCut and Your Device:
- Close the CapCut application completely.
- Restart your computer (or the device you are using CapCut on).
- Re-open CapCut and try the upload again.
-
Cancel and Retry the Upload:
- In the "Transfer list" shown in your screenshot, click the 'X' next to the stalled upload or use the "Clear all" button.
- Attempt to upload the project to your CapCut Space again.
-
Check CapCut Storage Space:
- Ensure you have enough available storage space in your CapCut Cloud account to accommodate a 15.75GB file. If your space is full or nearly full, the upload will fail. You might need to delete old projects or upgrade your storage plan.
- CapCut Space has file size limits depending on the account type:
- Free users: Max file size is up to 5 GB
- Pro users: May allow up to 100 GB in Standard tier, and even can go up to 1 TB in PRO plan
- Check your CapCut plan. If you're a free user, that 15.75 GB file is probably too large.
-
Check CapCut Server Status:
- While less common, there might be temporary issues with CapCut's servers. You can sometimes find information about outages on social media (Twitter/X account).
-
Update CapCut:
- Make sure you are using the latest version of the CapCut application. Outdated versions can sometimes have bugs related to uploads or syncing. Check for updates within the app or on their official website/app store.
-
Clear CapCut Cache:
- Sometimes corrupted cache files can interfere with operations. Look within CapCut's settings for an option to clear the cache. The exact location varies depending on whether you're using the desktop or mobile app. Be cautious not to delete project files unless intended.
- Try uploading through the CapCut website instead of the app: https://www.capcut.com/tools/space
-
Test with a Smaller Project:
- Try creating and uploading a very small, simple test project (e.g., a few seconds long with one clip). If the small project uploads successfully, it suggests the issue might be related specifically to the large "vlog - bdg-FINAL" project (perhaps its size or complexity). If even the small project fails, it points more towards a network, application, or account issue.
-
Check Firewall/VPN:
- If you are using a firewall or VPN, try temporarily disabling it to see if it's interfering with the connection to CapCut's servers.
Reduce or split that 15.75 GB file so you can upload it to CapCut Space without all this stress. You have two main options depending on what works best for you:
Option 1: Compress the File
Shrink the file size (ideally under 5–10 GB) using HandBrake — a free tool for video compression.
Steps (Using HandBrake):
-
Download HandBrake: https://handbrake.fr
-
Open it and import your
.mp4
or.mov
file. -
Use the “Fast 1080p30” preset.
-
Under the Video tab, make sure:
-
Video Codec: H.264 (x264)
-
Constant Quality: set to around 22 for good balance
-
-
Click Browse to choose where to save it.
-
Hit Start Encode.
That should reduce the file size significantly (sometimes by half or more).
Option 2: Split the File into Parts
If compression isn’t enough, split the video into 2 or 3 parts and upload them separately.
🔧 Tool Suggestions:
-
Shutter Encoder (Free & simple): lets you split by duration or file size
-
FFmpeg (Advanced, command-line)
If you want a no-code way:
A simple step-by-step for Shutter Encoder:
-
Download: https://www.shutterencoder.com/en/
-
Drag your video file in
-
Under Function, choose Cut Without Re-encoding
-
Click the “Choose segments” button and split it manually
-
Click Start Function
