I downloaded the Capkat program on the PC, and recently I had it on the PC, but it has many problems. When I start editing, it comes out, shuts down, and stops working. I deleted it and reinstalled it, but it did not work. My device’s specifications are the name of the device: DESKTOP-M61VQM6.
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2620M CPU @ 2.70GHz 2.70 GHz
6.00 GB installed RAM (5.88 GB used)
Device ID F92AF3CD-062D-4702-A6ED-71B7D539F38B
Product ID 00325-96350-78569-AAOEM
System type 64-bit operating system and x64-based processor
Pen and Touch No pen or touch input is available for this monitor
I think that this is enough for the Capcat program to run. Is there any update or something that happened recently that caused this problem to occur, or is it from my device, and what is the solution in your opinion?
I would like to inform that I cannot open the capcut application that I downloaded for this PC setup. Gaming PC Intel Core i5 13400F Raptor Lake 4.6 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 8GB 170 W, RAM 16GB DDR4, SSD 1000 GB, No drive, Wi-Fi, VGA D-SUB and HDMI, 2× USB 3.2, 4× USB 2.0, case type: Big Tower, mouse and keyboard, Windows 11 Home
Can you give me some help? I installed the app normally, but when I double click on it, nothing happens.
Hi,
The newer version of the CapCut PC program now demands more from your system than it used to be before. Although your device once ran the program, your specifications (an Intel Core i7-2620M with 6 GB RAM) are now on the lower end of what modern video editing software such as CapCut requires. Several factors might be contributing to the crashes:
• Increased Resource Requirements: Recent updates of CapCut have increased the program’s memory and processing demands. Many users on older or less powerful systems (especially those with only 6 GB of RAM and older mobile processors) have experienced similar issues. Consequently, the newer versions are more laggy and crash-prone compared to older versions.
• System Limitations: Your CPU (a mobile i7-2620M from around 2011) and 6 GB RAM were adequate in the past, but now typically you will need at least 8 GB of RAM—and even 16 GB for smoother performance—especially when handling high-resolution video or multiple effects using CapCut.
• Driver or Background Conflicts: Although you’ve already reinstalled CapCut, ensure that your graphics drivers are fully up to date. Sometimes background software (like system monitors or other resource-heavy apps) can interfere with video editing software such as CapCut, although the bulk of the problem seems to be hardware capacity.
What Can You Do?
-
Upgrade Your Hardware:
• Increasing your RAM (ideally to 8 GB or more) could significantly improve stability.
• A dedicated graphics card would also help if your system currently relies solely on integrated graphics.
Unfortunately, if your device’s CPU is already quite old, you might eventually need a newer machine for heavy editing. -
Roll Back to an Older Version:
• CapCut older versions do not need excessive computing power and runs smoothly on your system. Download the previous versions of CapCut from here. -
Optimize Your System:
• Close unnecessary background applications to free up memory.
• Ensure your system drivers (especially for graphics) are up to date.
• Try lowering the preview quality or other in-app settings if available, which might reduce the load.
It is most likely that a recent update has increased CapCut’s system requirements, and your current device isn’t meeting these new demands. Upgrading your hardware or temporarily reverting to an earlier version of the program would be the most practical solutions.
