Hello, when I import a video that originally has sound, the sound does not play in Capcut. I can add a separate audio track and that works fine, but I can't seem to use the original audio that is part of the video. I have checked that the track is not muted, and the volume is set where it should be. But when I preview play the project, there is no sound and if I export, there is also no sound. Please help!

When I edit in capcut the audio is synced perfectly with the video. But when I export (no matter in what quality 4K, 2K or 1080p) the audio is not synced anymore and is delayed.

I have been experiencing this issue for a while. I can't edit because the audio is delay which makes my edits off beat. I have to export just to check if it's on beat and honestly, it's very hard. Please fix this asap.

Hi,

Here is a breakdown of steps to take when in CapCut the original video's audio is not playing, even though you have checked the basics like mute and volume:

  1. Unmute and adjust audio levels:

    • The basic (which you have already tried): Ensure the audio track isn't muted and that the volume is appropriately set.
    • In CapCut, right-click on the audio track in the timeline and select "Properties."
    • Check the audio levels and adjust them as needed.
  2. Check audio sample rate compatibility:

    • Incompatible audio sample rates can cause playback issues.
    • Right-click on your video/audio clip in the timeline and select "Properties."
    • Note the audio sample rate of your clip.
    • When exporting, ensure the export settings match the clip's audio sample rate.
  3. Project settings check:

    • Audio tracks disabled: Even if the track is not muted, there will be a master audio enable/disable setting for the whole project. Look for this in CapCut's settings or timeline area.
    • Double-check all project-level audio settings to ensure nothing is accidentally disabled.
  4. Hardware and system issues:

    • Sound dDrivers: Although less common, outdated or corrupted sound drivers on your device could theoretically interfere.
    • Solution:
      • Restart your device: This often refreshes drivers.
      • Update sound drivers: Check your device manufacturer's website for the latest sound drivers. Download and install the same.
    • Watch this video on how to update sound drivers
  5. Import process:

    • Corrupted import: Sometimes the import process itself can go wrong.
    • Solution:
      • Try importing the video again: Sometimes a second attempt works.
      • Import a different video: If other videos import with sound, it further points to an issue with the original video file.
  6. Restart CapCut:

    • Sometimes, restarting the application can resolve temporary glitches.
    • Close CapCut completely and reopen it to see if the issue persists.
  7. Update CapCut:

    • Ensure you are using the latest version of CapCut, as updates often fix known issues.
    • Check for updates within the app or download the latest versions from here: Android, iOS or PC.
  8. Check system audio settings:

    • Verify that your device's audio settings are correctly configured.
    • Ensure the correct output device (e.g., speakers or headphones) is selected.
  9. Use headphones:

    • Check if using headphones can resolve audio playback issues.
    • Try connecting headphones to your device and see if the audio plays correctly.
  10. Video file compatibility:

    • Codecs: CapCut supports a wide range of video and audio codecs, but sometimes a specific codec within your video file might not be fully compatible. This is the most likely culprit.
    • File format: While CapCut handles common formats like MP4, MOV, etc., there might be variations within these formats.
    • Solution: Try converting your video to a more universally compatible format like MP4 with AAC audio using a video conversion tool (like HandBrake, VLC, or online converters). This often resolves codec issues.
    • Watch this below video to see how to convert video to MP4
    •

If these steps don't resolve the issue, consider reaching out to CapCut's support team for further assistance.
