I have an online/mobile app account with projects. I downloaded the desktop version and it forced me to sign in via TikTok login. Then I subscribed to Pro. Now I cant get my projects from the web browser/phone app to the desktop version. the Web browsers/mobile app is now a free account, but have purchased Pro for Desktop. I cant share the projects either direction for the spaces via joining them.
Hi,
We understand that you are having trouble accessing your CapCut projects across different devices after subscribing to Pro on the desktop version. Let us try to sort this out. It appears there might be a disconnect between your free web/mobile app account and your Pro desktop account.
Here is a breakdown of the situation and potential solutions:
Understanding the issue
- Separate Accounts: It is possible that signing in via TikTok on the desktop version created a new CapCut account linked to your TikTok login, separate from the account you were using on the web browser and mobile app.
- Account Types: You might have inadvertently created two different CapCut accounts:
- Free Account: Associated with your web browser/mobile app, containing your existing projects.
- Pro Account: Associated with your TikTok login on the desktop, where you purchased the Pro subscription but don't see your projects.
- Project Syncing: CapCut should allow project syncing across devices, but if you're logged into different accounts, this won't work.
- Sharing Limitations: You mentioned issues with sharing projects between "spaces." This might relate to different accounts or project visibility settings.
Troubleshooting and solutions:
-
Verify Account Email/Login Method on Web/Mobile App:
- On your CapCut mobile app or web browser version, check your account profile settings.
- Note the email address or login method (e.g., TikTok, Google, email) associated with this account. This is where your original projects are located.
-
Verify Account Email/Login Method on Desktop App:
- Open the CapCut desktop application.
- Go to your profile settings within the desktop app.
- Check the email address or login method associated with this account. It's likely linked to your TikTok login.
-
Are They the Same Account?
- If the login methods or email addresses are DIFFERENT between your web/mobile app and desktop app, then you've likely created two separate accounts. The Pro subscription is tied to the TikTok-linked desktop account, while your projects are on the other account.
- If the login methods or email addresses are the SAME, then there might be a syncing issue or a different problem.
Here is how to check your account login details in both the CapCut mobile app and the desktop version:
CapCut Mobile App (Android/iOS):
- Open the CapCut app on your phone or tablet.
- Look for the "Me" tab. This is usually located in the bottom right corner of the screen and often has a profile icon (a person silhouette).
- Tap on the "Me" tab.
- At the top of this screen, you should see your profile picture (if you've set one) and your username. Tap on this area (your profile picture or username).
- This will take you to your profile page. Here, you should be able to see the email address or the platform you used to sign up (e.g., "Logged in with TikTok," "Logged in with Google," or your email address will be displayed).
CapCut Desktop Version (Windows/macOS):
- Open the CapCut desktop application on your computer.
- Look for your profile icon or your username. This is located in the top right corner of the application window. It might be a small circular icon with your profile picture or initials, or it might just display your username.
- Click on your profile icon or username. This will usually open a dropdown menu or a profile settings page.
- In the dropdown menu or on the profile settings page, you should find information about your account. This will typically display the email address associated with your account or indicate that you are logged in via TikTok.
Once you have checked the login details for both the mobile app/web browser and the desktop version, you can compare them to see if you are using the same account.
Solutions based on account verification
-
Scenario 1: Different Accounts (Most Likely)
-
Option A: Log out and Log in on Desktop with the Correct Account:
- In the CapCut desktop app, log out of your current account (the TikTok-linked one).
- Log back in using the same login method or email address that you identified in step 1 (the one associated with your web/mobile app account and projects).
- After logging in with the correct account on desktop, check if your projects are now visible. You might need to resubscribe to Pro if the Pro subscription is tied to the TikTok-linked account. You may contact CapCut support at [email protected] to see if they can transfer your Pro subscription to the correct account.
-
Option B: Project export/import:
- On your web/mobile app (free account), export your projects individually. CapCut offers options to export projects in a CapCut project format or as individual video files.
- On your desktop app (Pro account), import the exported projects. This is less ideal for ongoing editing as it breaks the direct syncing and collaboration features.
-
Option C: Utilizing CapCut Cloud Storage:
To transfer projects between devices, you can use CapCut's cloud storage feature:
-
On Mobile/Web Browser:
- Open your project and look for the "Upload to Cloud" option (this may appear as a cloud icon).
- After uploading, the project should be accessible in your CapCut cloud space.
-
On Desktop:
- Ensure you are logged into the same CapCut account used on your mobile/web browser.
- Navigate to your cloud space within the desktop application to access and download the project.
-
-
-
Scenario 2: Same Account (less likely, but possible)
- Check project visibility/spaces:
- CapCut uses "Spaces" to organize projects. Ensure you are in the correct "Space" within the desktop app where your projects should be. Sometimes projects might be accidentally placed in a different Space.
- Syncing issues:
- Ensure you have a stable internet connection on both your desktop and mobile devices.
- Try closing and reopening CapCut on both devices to refresh the project list and trigger syncing.
- Look for any manual "sync" or "refresh" options within the CapCut desktop app.
- Contact CapCut support: If you are logged into the same account and still can't see your projects on desktop, there might be a technical syncing issue or a bug. The best step would be to contact CapCut's technical support directly. They can investigate your account and project syncing status. You can find a "Help" or "Support" section on the CapCut app.
- Check project visibility/spaces:
To summarize, the most crucial step is to verify if you are logged into the same CapCut account across all your devices. If not, logging into the correct account on the desktop version is the primary solution. If you are logged into the same account and still have issues, contacting CapCut support is the next best step.
