When using your captioning tool text-to-speech using SRT substitutes, I noticed that many audio clips are missing, especially for larger SRT files, particularly those longer than 1 hour, here I use a 2-hour SRT test, attached figures as proof. I would not consider paying for this software if it has such significant flaws. However, Interestingly, when using your Chinese version, I encountered no such errors.

I am concerned there might be discrimination in your software production. Kindly address this issue. Otherwise, I can only take this as discrimination against English users. And I will post on social media.

Hi,

CapCut offers a built-in text-to-speech converter that enables users to create immersive voiceovers directly within the platform. This feature supports various languages and can be applied to individual clips or entire videos. However, as you've experienced, there may be limitations when processing extensive SRT files.

This problem seems to be more prevalent in the international version of CapCut, as you've noted that the Chinese version handles lengthy SRT files without missing audio clips.

Given the challenges with the international version, you might consider using the Chinese version of CapCut for projects involving lengthy SRT files, as it appears to handle them more effectively.

Other workarounds which we suggest are as follows:

Identifying the underlying problem:

  • Identify the specific SRT files that are causing problems. Note their size, duration, and any special characters or formatting they might contain.
  • Try to consistently reproduce the issue. Does the same SRT file always fail at the same point? Does it always fail with files over a certain size or duration?
  • Test with a variety of SRT files, including smaller ones, to see if there's a pattern.
  • If CapCut provides any error messages or logs, record them. Screenshots or screen recordings of the problem are also very helpful while contacting support team.
  • Segmenting SRT Files:

    • Consider dividing your lengthy SRT file into smaller segments, each under one hour.
    • Process each segment individually in CapCut and then combine the exported audio clips in a new project.
    • This approach can help manage the TTS processing load and reduce the likelihood of missing audio clips.
  • Alternative TTS Tools:

    • Utilize external text-to-speech converters to process your SRT file.
    • After generating the audio externally, import the audio file into CapCut for synchronization with your video.
    • This method bypasses the internal TTS limitations within CapCut.

Possible reasons for this bug

  • Character Encoding: SRT files can have different character encodings. CapCut might be having trouble with a specific encoding.
  • File Parsing: There might be a bug in how CapCut parses larger SRT files, causing it to miss audio clips.
  • Duration Limits: Perhaps there's an undocumented limitation on the duration or size of SRT files that CapCut can handle for TTS.
  • Version Discrepancy: The Chinese version might have a different codebase or be maintained separately, which could explain the difference in behavior.

Reporting the detailed bug report:

Report this bug to CapCut support on the email ID [email protected]. The more detailed your report, the better. Include the following points:

  • Explain exactly how to reproduce the problem.
  • Attach the SRT files that are causing issues in the email.
  • Specify the exact version of CapCut you are using (including build numbers, if available).
  • Mention your operating system (Windows, macOS, etc.).
  • Mention that the Chinese version does not have this problem. This is a strong indicator of a bug in the international versions.

We hope these suggestions assist you in resolving the issues you're encountering with CapCut's text-to-speech functionality.
