There was a way for me to manually enter the captions and CapCut would break them up for me. Now I don’t have the option and I would have to type line by line. Before i was able to paste a whole paragraph and change it as I go. What happened?
Hi,
It seems like you are experiencing captioning feature in CapCut, and it is surprising when a feature you relied on seems to disappear. Let us explore what might have happened and how you can efficiently add captions now.
It is possible that a recent CapCut update has changed the way manual captions are input. While the exact feature you describe might have been altered or moved, there are still ways to manage your captions effectively.
Here is what you can try to streamline your captioning process in CapCut:
Current methods for manual captions in CapCut:
- Manual line breaks: Even if the paragraph pasting feature is gone, you should still be able to manually insert line breaks within the caption text box. After pasting your paragraph, try tapping the "Enter" or "Return" key on your keyboard (or the line break equivalent on your device's on-screen keyboard) to break the text into separate lines. This might require a little more manual formatting than before, but it should allow you to control where the lines split.
- Batch editing: CapCut often has a "Batch editing" feature for captions. Look for this option after you have added your captions. It might allow you to select multiple lines of captions and edit them together, which could be helpful for adjusting line breaks or making changes across several captions at once. Some tutorials suggest using "Batch edit" to "split the text" for aesthetic purposes, limiting lines to "one to three words Max per line." This might be a way to refine your captions after pasting a larger block of text.
- Using a text editor: As a workaround, you could type and format your captions in a separate text editor (like Notepad or Google Docs) on your computer or phone. Break your paragraph into the desired lines in the text editor, then copy and paste each line individually into CapCut's caption text box. While this is still line-by-line pasting, pre-formatting in a text editor might give you more control and make the process slightly faster than typing everything directly in CapCut.
- Utilize the Auto-Caption Feature: CapCut offers an auto-caption tool that automatically generates captions based on the video's audio. After generation, you can edit and customize these captions to fit your needs. This feature can save time and streamline the captioning process.
Possible reasons for the change:
- App updates: CapCut like many apps, regularly updates its features. It is possible that the paragraph pasting method was unintentionally removed in an update, or the captioning interface was redesigned.
- Feature location change: Sometimes, features aren't removed but are moved to a different location within the app's interface after an update. Double-check all the caption editing options to see if the feature has simply been relocated.
- Software version: Ensure you are using the latest version of CapCut. If you haven't updated recently, an older version might have different features than the current one. Check your app store for updates.
If you continue to have difficulties or can't find a suitable alternative within CapCut, consider checking with CapCut technical support team who can be reached at [email protected].
If you can describe the exact steps you used to take before, or if you can find any screenshots or screen recordings of the old method, that might help in figuring out what changed.
We hope these suggestions help you navigate the changes in CapCut's captioning feature and find a solution that works for your video editing projects.
