I’m editing my video and on a certain clip I hear an Audio that’s been edited out. I can’t find the actual audio track.  Which shouldn’t exist because again I deleted the audio.  I muted all my tracks but I still hear the audio.  Can someone help me get rid of it?

Hi,

That is a very strange issue. It sounds like you have taken the obvious steps to remove the audio, but it's still persisting. Let us troubleshoot this to get rid of that unwanted sound.

Here is a breakdown of potential reasons why you might still be hearing audio and how to eliminate it:

Troubleshooting Steps within CapCut:

  • Double-Check Audio Track Deletion:

Visually Inspect Timeline: Carefully examine your CapCut timeline. Make absolutely sure that the audio track you intended to delete is indeed gone. Sometimes, in a complex timeline, it's easy to accidentally delete the wrong track or think you deleted it when you didn't.

Select and Delete Again: Select the audio track you believe is the problem and try deleting it again, even if you think you already did. Sometimes a second attempt can register properly.

  • Verify Muting of ALL Tracks:

Mute Buttons: Go through each audio track in your timeline and ensure the mute button (usually a speaker icon) is activated for every single audio track. It's possible you missed one, or perhaps a new track was accidentally created.

Solo Function: Try "soloing" each audio track individually to see if you can pinpoint where the persistent audio is coming from. If you solo each track and still hear it when all are soloed, this points to a different problem.

  • Check for Hidden or Linked Audio:

Linked Video/Audio:  sometimes video and audio can be "linked." If this is the case, deleting the video might not delete the linked audio. Try to "unlink" the video and audio and then delete the audio track separately.

Hidden Tracks/Layers: While less likely in CapCut's mobile interface, quickly scan for any hidden tracks or layers in your timeline. Sometimes, collapsed tracks can conceal audio.

  • Group and Move Audio Tracks:

Try grouping all audio tracks and moving them up one track. This action makes the previously hidden audio track audible and editable again.

  • Create a Compound Clip:

Try selecting all audio clips, right-clicking to compile them into a compound clip, and then copying and pasting this compound clip. This method helps restore audio functionality.

Verify Audio Linkage: Ensure that the audio is correctly linked to the intended video clips. Mislinked audio can cause playback issues.

  • Restart CapCut and Your Device:

Close and Reopen CapCut: Completely close the CapCut application and then reopen it. This can resolve temporary software glitches.

Restart Your Phone/Tablet: Restart your phone or tablet itself. This can clear system-level temporary issues that might be affecting CapCut.

  • Examine the Video Clip Itself (Source Audio):

Original Video File: It is possible the audio is embedded within the video clip file itself. Even if you deleted an added audio track in CapCut, the original video clip might still contain its own inherent audio.

Detach Audio by selecting the video clip, try detaching the audio. This will separate the video and its original sound into separate tracks. Then, you can ensure the detached audio track is deleted or muted.

Re-import the Video Clip: Try deleting the video clip from your CapCut project entirely and then re-importing the original video file again. When you re-import, be extra careful to not add any audio tracks initially, and see if the unwanted audio is still present.

  • If the Audio Persists After These Steps:

CapCut Bug or Software Issue: If you've gone through all of these steps and the audio is still there even with all tracks muted and deleted, it's highly likely there's a bug or software glitch within CapCut itself.

Next Steps if you suspect a Bug:

Contact CapCut Support: The most direct way to report a potential bug is to contact CapCut's technical support team. Try emailing the support team at [email protected] or commercepro.support@capcut.com.

  •  Information to Provide: When contacting support, be very detailed:
  • Explain that you are hearing audio even after deleting audio tracks and muting.
  • Describe the exact steps you've taken to delete and mute audio.
  • Mention that you suspect it might be embedded audio or a bug.
  • Specify the type of device you are using (phone model, tablet, Android or iOS).
  • The version of CapCut you are using (check in the app settings).
  • If possible, include a screen recording demonstrating the issue (showing your timeline, muted tracks, and the persistent audio).

In Summary:

The most promising steps now are to try "detaching" the audio from the video clip and deleting the detached audio track, or re-importing the video clip fresh. If those don't work, testing with a different clip and device will help narrow down if it's clip-specific or a broader CapCut problem. If it seems like a bug, reporting it to CapCut technical support with detailed information is the best course of action.

Let us know what happens after you try these steps.
