Hi,

I have CapCut on my laptop and home computer. I edit everything on my home computer, but would like to also edit the same project on my laptop. Do projects sync over? Or do I need to manually add the project to my laptop?

Hi,

Unfortunately currently CapCut projects do not automatically sync between devices. To edit a project on both your laptop and home computer, you will need to manually transfer the project.

Here are a few methods you can use to manually transfer your CapCut projects:

Method 1: Using a Shareable Link

This method involves generating a shareable link for your project on your home computer and then using that link to download the project on your laptop.

  • On your home computer, open CapCut and the project you want to transfer.
  • Look for an option to "share" or "export" the project as a link. You will need to:
  • Click on "Space" and then "upload".
  • Once uploaded, copy the project link.
  • Send the link to yourself via email or another messaging service so you can access it on your laptop.
  • On your laptop, open the link.
  • You should see an option like "View and edit in CapCut". Click on this.
  • CapCut should open and prompt you to download the project. Click "download".
  • Once downloaded, the project should be available in your projects list on your laptop, ready for editing.

You can find a video tutorial on this process here:

Method 2: Using CapCut's "Space" (Cloud Storage)

CapCut has a "Space" or cloud storage feature that can be used to transfer projects between devices.

  • On your home computer, in CapCut, find the option to "upload to space" for your project. This might be accessible by clicking the three dots next to your project.
  • On your laptop, open CapCut and sign in to the same CapCut account you used on your home computer.
  • Look for a "cloud" icon or a "Space" section in CapCut on your laptop.
  • You should see your synced projects there. Download the project to your laptop.

Method 3: Using external storage

Locate the Project Files on Your Home Computer:

  • CapCut projects are typically stored in a specific directory on your computer. Navigate to this folder to find your project files.

Transfer the Project Files to Your Laptop:

  • Using External Storage: Copy the entire project folder onto a USB drive or external hard drive, then connect it to your laptop and transfer the files.
  • Using Cloud Storage: Upload the project folder to a cloud service like Google Drive or Dropbox from your home computer, then download it onto your laptop.

Open the Project on Your Laptop:

  • Once the files are transferred, open CapCut on your laptop and navigate to the location where you saved the project. Open the project file to continue editing.

Remember to transfer any media assets used in your project along with the project file to ensure all elements are available when editing on your laptop.

While these methods should allow you to work on your projects across multiple devices, they are manual. You will need to repeat these steps each time you want to transfer a project between your laptop and home computer.
