Hi,

It is surprising that features like "Enhance voice" and "Vocal separation" get stuck at 20% on multiple devices suggests the issue might not be solely with the device hardware itself, but could be related to the app, the specific audio file, the project complexity, or even CapCut's servers (as these features involve cloud processing).

Let us try a few troubleshooting steps, starting with the simpler ones:

  1. Force Close and Restart CapCut: Completely close the CapCut app (don't just minimize it) and then reopen it. Try applying the effect again.
  2. Restart Your Device: A simple reboot can clear temporary glitches in the operating system or background processes that might be interfering with CapCut.
  3. Check Internet Connection: Although you tried different devices, ensure the current device has a strong and stable internet connection. Some AI-powered features in CapCut rely on sending data to their servers for processing. An unstable connection could cause the process to hang. Try switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data if possible.
  4. Clear CapCut Cache: Sometimes accumulated cache data can cause issues.
    • On Mobile (Android/iOS): Go to your device's Settings > Apps > CapCut > Storage > Clear Cache. (Be careful NOT to clear data unless you have backed up your projects, as this might remove drafts).
    • On Desktop: Look for cache clearing options within CapCut's settings or manually find the cache folder (location varies by OS).
  5. Check Device Storage: Ensure you have plenty of free storage space on the device you are currently using. CapCut, especially with effects processing, requires significant temporary space.
  6. Update CapCut: Make sure you are using the latest version of CapCut available from your app store (Google Play Store, Apple App Store, or the desktop download site). Developers often release updates to fix bugs like this.
  7. Try on a Short Test Clip: Create a new project with a very short, simple audio clip (maybe just 10-15 seconds of recorded voice). See if the enhance/separation features work on that.
    • If it works on the short clip, the issue might be with the length, complexity, or format of the audio in your original project.
    • If it still gets stuck even on a short, new clip, the problem is more likely with the app installation or potentially a server-side issue at CapCut.
  8. Isolate the Audio:
    • Export just the audio track from your problematic video segment.
    • Create a new CapCut project and import only that audio file.
    • Try applying the "Enhance Voice" or "Vocal Separation" directly to this audio-only project. If it works, you can export the processed audio and replace the original audio in your main video project.
  9. Break Down the Project: If your video is long, try applying the effect to smaller sections. Export the section you want to process, apply the effect in a new project, export the processed version, and then re-import it into your main project. This is tedious but can work around processing limits.
  10. Check Audio Format: Is the audio in your clip unusual (e.g., a less common codec, very high bitrate, or variable bitrate that might be causing issues)? If possible, try converting the audio track to a standard format like AAC or WAV before importing it or applying the effect.
  11. Reinstall CapCut: This is a more drastic step. If you do this, make sure your projects are backed up (CapCut usually syncs cloud projects, but local drafts might be lost). Uninstall the app completely, restart your device, and then reinstall CapCut.
  12. Server-Side Issues: It's possible CapCut's servers responsible for processing these specific AI features are overloaded or experiencing temporary problems. Since it's been happening for two days, check social media to see if other users are reporting similar issues with these specific features. If it's a widespread server problem, you may unfortunately just have to wait.
  13. If none of the above solutions work, consider reaching out to CapCut's technical support team through the app or by writing an email to [email protected]. Provide with details about your issue, including your device model, OS version, and the steps you have already taken.
  14. Alternative Solutions:
    • If the issue continues, you might consider using alternative tools to process your audio:
      • Adobe Podcast Enhance: An online tool that improves voice quality.
      • Audacity: A free, open-source audio editor that allows for manual vocal isolation and enhancement.
      • Online Vocal Removers: Websites like VocalRemover.org can separate vocals from background music.

Given your deadline, if steps 1-8 don't resolve it quickly, you might need to consider a workaround like processing the audio in separate, smaller chunks (Step 9) or even using alternative software for just the audio enhancement/separation if CapCut continues to fail.
