Hi,

Getting stuck at 1% during export is a common sign that something is wrong with your CapCut. These problems can arise from various factors, including hardware acceleration settings, cache accumulation, or software glitches.

Here are several possible reasons why this might be happening and what you can try to fix it:

  1. Insufficient Device Resources:

    • Storage Space: Video editing, especially exporting, requires significant free space on your device (phone or computer). If your storage is nearly full, CapCut might not have enough temporary space to process and write the final video file.
      • Action: Check your device's storage. Delete unnecessary files, apps, photos, or videos to free up several gigabytes (GB) of space. Try to have at least 10-20% of your total storage free.
    • RAM/Processing Power: Complex projects with many layers, effects, high-resolution clips (like 4K), or long durations can overwhelm your device's RAM and CPU. The playback issue might also stem from this.
      • Action: Close all other background apps while using CapCut and exporting. If on a computer, check Task Manager (Windows) or Activity Monitor (Mac) to see if CPU or RAM usage is maxed out.
  2. CapCut App Issues:

    • Cache: A corrupted or overloaded app cache can cause various problems.
      • Action: Try clearing CapCut's cache.
      • On Mobile Devices:

        • For iOS:

          • Open the Settings app.

          • Scroll down and select CapCut.

          • Toggle on Reset cache on next start.

          • Restart CapCut.

        • For Android:

          • Go to Settings > Apps > CapCut.

          • Tap on Storage.

          • Press Clear cache.

      • On PC:

        • Launch CapCut.

        • Click on the Settings icon in the upper-right corner.

        • Select Settings from the drop-down menu.

        • Open the Project tab.

        • Navigate to Cache size and click the trash bin icon.

        • Confirm the action by clicking OK.

      • Clearing the cache can resolve performance issues related to corrupted or excessive data.
      • Do NOT clear data unless you have backed up your projects, as this might delete them.
    • Outdated Version: You might be using an older version of CapCut with bugs that have been fixed in newer releases.
      • Action: Check your app store (Google Play Store, Apple App Store) or the CapCut website for updates and install the latest version.
    • Temporary Glitch: Sometimes, apps just encounter temporary glitches.
      • Action: Force close the CapCut app completely and then restart it. Also, try restarting your entire device (phone or computer).
  3. Project-Specific Problems:

    • Corrupted Media or Effects: One specific video clip, image, audio file, effect, or transition in your project might be corrupted or incompatible, causing the playback and export to fail.
      • Action: Try to identify the problematic element. If the playback stops at a certain point, look at the clips/effects around that timestamp. Try removing recently added elements one by one and see if playback/export works. Try exporting a very short section of the video to see if that works.
    • Project Complexity: As mentioned before, a very complex project might be too much for your device.
      • Action: Try simplifying the project. Remove some layers or effects. Consider breaking a very long project into smaller parts, exporting them individually, and then joining them in a new, simpler project.
  4. Export Settings:

    • High Settings: Exporting at the absolute highest resolution (e.g., 4K), frame rate (e.g., 60fps), and bitrate can be very demanding. High-resolution videos can cause CapCut to crash during export.
      • Action: Try lowering the export settings. Export at 1080p instead of 4K, or 30fps instead of 60fps. See if reducing the bitrate helps.
      • On Mobile Devices:

        • Open CapCut and start a new project.

        • Import your clip and set the resolution to 720p.

      • On PC:

        • Open CapCut and create a new project.

        • Import your video and set the resolution to 720p before proceeding.

      • Lowering the resolution and frame rate can help prevent lagging and export issues.

  5. Disable Hardware Acceleration Features:

    • Render Interface with GPU:

      • Open CapCut and click on the Menu in the upper-left corner.

      • Select Settings.

      • Navigate to the Performance tab.

      • Uncheck the Render interface with GPU option.

      • Click Save and restart CapCut.

    • Speed Up Hardware Decoding:

      • In the same Performance tab, uncheck the Speed up hardware decoding option.

      • Click Save and restart CapCut.

    • These adjustments can help resolve black screen and freezing issues during playback and export.

  6. Check for CapCut PRO Features:
    • Some features are exclusive to CapCut PRO.
    • If your project includes PRO features, the app may prompt you to subscribe before exporting.
    • To resolve this, either purchase the PRO subscription or remove the PRO features from your project.
  7. Software Conflicts (Less Common):

    • Other Apps: On rare occasions, another app running in the background could interfere.
      • Action: Ensure all unnecessary apps are closed.
  8. Uninstall and Reinstall CapCut:
    • Uninstalling the app can remove any defects that might have been attached to it.
    • After uninstalling, reinstall the latest version from the Play Store or App Store.
    • Ensure you back up any pending work before deleting the app.
  9. Update Graphics Drivers (For PC Users):
    • Outdated graphics drivers can cause video playback issues.

    • Visit your GPU manufacturer's website (e.g., NVIDIA, AMD, Intel).

    • Download and install the latest drivers compatible with your system.

Troubleshooting Steps Summary:

  1. Restart: Restart CapCut and your device.
  2. Check Storage: Ensure you have plenty of free storage space.
  3. Clear Cache: Clear CapCut's cache (be careful not to clear data).
  4. Update: Make sure CapCut is updated to the latest version.
  5. Simplify/Test: Try exporting a different, simpler project, or a small section of your current project. Try removing recent or complex effects/media from your current project.
  6. Lower Export Settings: Attempt exporting with lower resolution, frame rate, or bitrate.
  7. Reinstall (Last Resort): If nothing else works, consider uninstalling and reinstalling CapCut. Make sure your projects are backed up or saved externally before doing this, as uninstalling might delete local data depending on your platform and settings.

Start with the simplest steps (restarting, checking storage) and work your way through the list. Hopefully, one of these solutions will get your playback and export working again!

If you've tried all these steps and are still experiencing issues, consider reaching out to CapCut's technical support team ([email protected]) for further assistance.
