Hi,

It is interesting that you are not seeing the Fade In option in the latest CapCut version. Let us investigate why this might be happening.

Based on recent CapCut updates, the Fade In/Out feature is still available in the latest versions of CapCut, but it is possible its location or how you access it has changed slightly, or there might be another reason you are not seeing it.

Here is a breakdown of where to typically find the Fade In/Out options and potential reasons why you might not be seeing them:

Where to Find Fade In/Out in CapCut (Generally):

The Fade In/Out feature in CapCut is usually applied to clips individually (video or audio). Here is how you typically access it:

  1. Select the Clip: In your CapCut project timeline, tap or click on the clip (video or audio track) you want to apply the fade effect to. The clip should be highlighted or outlined after you select it.
  2. Look for "Fade" or "Audio/Video" Options: Once the clip is selected, look in the bottom menu bar or editing panel for options related to clip editing. You should typically find "Fade" as a direct option, or it might be located within "Audio" settings (for audio clips) or "Video" settings (for video clips).
  3. Adjust Fade In/Out: When you select "Fade," you should see sliders or controls to adjust the Fade In duration and the Fade Out duration for the selected clip.

For a video guide on adding fade-in and fade-out effects in CapCut, you might find this tutorial helpful:

Possible reasons you might not be seeing the Fade In option:

  • Clip Not Selected: The most common reason is that no clip is actively selected in your timeline. The Fade options are clip-specific, so you need to select a video or audio clip first for the "Fade" menu to appear. Make sure you tap or click directly on a clip in your timeline to select it before looking for the Fade option.
  • Incorrect Menu Section: You might be looking in the wrong menu section. Double-check both the main bottom menu bar and any "Audio" or "Video" sub-menus that appear when a clip is selected. Sometimes features are reorganized in updates.
  • Software Version/Platform Differences: While Fade In/Out is a standard CapCut feature, there's a slight chance that there are minor differences in interface layout or feature availability between different versions of CapCut (e.g., mobile app vs. desktop app, or older vs. very latest updates). If you are using a significantly older version, it's possible the interface was different. However, Fade In/Out is a fundamental feature, so it's highly likely to be present even in older versions, just perhaps in a slightly different location.
  • "Effects" Menu Confusion: Be careful not to confuse the "Fade In/Out" clip editing option with video effects that might also create a fade-like visual. The clip-specific Fade In/Out is usually found in the basic clip editing menus, not within the "Effects" or "Transitions" sections.
  • Software Glitch/Bug: In rare cases, a temporary software glitch could be causing the menu to not display correctly. Try these basic troubleshooting steps:
    • Restart CapCut: Completely close and reopen the CapCut application.
    • Restart Your Device: Restart your computer or mobile device.
    • Check for Updates: Ensure you are truly running the very latest version of CapCut. Sometimes, if an update installation was interrupted, features might not load correctly. Re-check for updates in your app store.
    • Reinstall CapCut (as a last resort): If restarting doesn't help, uninstalling and then reinstalling CapCut can sometimes resolve more persistent software issues.

If you've checked these possibilities and still cannot find the Fade In/Out option:

  • Could you describe the exact version of CapCut you are using? (e.g., Desktop version, Mobile app version, and if you know the specific version number). This might help identify if there's a version-specific issue.
  • What platform are you using CapCut on? (macOS, Windows, iOS, Android).
  • Could you provide a screenshot of your CapCut editing interface when you have a clip selected? This would help us visually guide you to the correct menu if it's just a matter of location.

If the direct "Fade In" option is unavailable, you can manually create a fade-in effect by adjusting the opacity of your video clip over time. This involves setting keyframes at the beginning of the clip and gradually increasing opacity from 0% to 100%.

By checking these points, we should be able to pinpoint why you're not seeing the Fade In option and get you back to smoothly fading your clips.
