When I add. text and go to change the font, there is not a search box to be able to search for the font I want to use.  Others I know that use Capcut have a search box under the Font box.  See attached photo of what my friend sees and what I see or don't see as in this case.  I do not see a search box under the Font box. She is located in Canada.  Is there a different version for Canadians?

Have you tried updating to the latest version of CapCut and see any change?

@admin I am on 3.5.0 version of the Mac app.  I just checked again this morning and now that box is there.  It wasn't when I posted this message.  You can close this inquiry.

Hi,

This discrepancy may be due to regional differences in CapCut's feature availability.

Possible causes of such differences:

  1. Regional feature variations: CapCut may roll out features gradually, leading to differences based on user location.

  2. App version differences: Your friend might be using a different version of CapCut with features not yet available in your region.

  3. Sub versions: While major features are usually consistent, there can be minor interface variations between different sub-versions of CapCut desktop. It is possible your friend is on a slightly older or newer sub-version where the font search bar UI looks a bit different, or is positioned slightly differently.
  4. Software glitch or UI loading issue: It is possible that the search bar UI element is simply not loading correctly in your installation of CapCut due to a temporary glitch.

Recommended actions to take:

  1. Double-check the font panel location:

    • When you add text to your video and select the text clip on the timeline, the text editing panel opens on the right side of the CapCut interface.
    • Within this panel, ensure you are in the "Font" section (usually the first section under "Text").
    • Look directly at the top of the font list that drops down when you click the font selection box. The search bar should be integrated right there, above the font names. It is not a separate button, but an input field at the top of the font list itself.
  2. Update CapCut: Ensure you are using the latest version of CapCut. Check for updates in your device's app store.

  3. Use a VPN: Temporarily connect through a Canadian server to see if the feature becomes available.

  4. Compare CapCut versions with your friend: If you can easily communicate with your friend in Canada, ask them to check their exact CapCut desktop version number. You can usually find this in the "About" section of CapCut's settings menu. Compare version numbers. If they are significantly different, it could point to a version-specific UI difference, although this is still less likely for a core feature like a search bar.

Alternative solution:

  • If the search bar is truly gone for you, you'll have to Browse the font list visually. CapCut's fonts are organized into categories (like "System Fonts," "English," "Stylish," etc.). You can expand these categories and scroll through the font names and previews to find the font you want. This is less efficient than searching, but still allows you to access all the fonts.
  • Remember font names: If you frequently use specific fonts, try to remember their names or the categories they are in to make them slightly faster to locate by scrolling.

If the search box remains unavailable, consider manually importing the desired fonts:

  1. Download the font: Obtain the font file from our website.

  2. Import into CapCut:

    • Open CapCut and create a new project.
    • Add text and select the font option.
    • Choose the option to add a new font and locate the downloaded font file.

While unlikely for a core feature to be removed, software interfaces do sometimes change in updates. It is possible in a very recent update the search bar UI was altered or removed (though this would be unusual for font selection). It could also be a bug in your specific installation or version.

We hope this helps you access the font search functionality or find a suitable workaround.

If the search bar is crucial to your workflow and you have exhausted troubleshooting, and you are convinced it is missing, contact CapCut support directly at [email protected]. Explain that you are missing the font search bar in the text panel of the desktop version, despite having the latest version installed. Provide screenshots of your font panel (like you did here) to show them what you are seeing. They can investigate if it is a bug, a UI change, or provide further guidance specific to your situation.
