I know this sounds stupid, but can someone tell me where to find the Loop feature?

The CapCut guide says to select "trim" and then "loop" but I can't find either anywhere... I am using it on PC and just updated.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Patri,

It is definitely not a stupid question! CapCut's interface can sometimes be a little different across devices, and features can move around as it gets regularly updated. Let us figure out below where the "Loop" feature is in CapCut on PC.

The "Loop" feature as described in some CapCut guides (often for mobile) is not directly available in the same way on the CapCut PC version. Here are the reasons why:

  • Feature differences between mobile and PC: CapCut is basically designed for mobile users as there are multiple times more users on mobile as compared to PC. Some features, especially those related to very specific editing tasks or interface layouts, will differ between the mobile app and the PC version. The "Trim" -> "Loop" path is specific to the mobile app interface.
  • CapCut is updated frequently. The guide you are looking at could be for an older version of CapCut, or it might be referencing the mobile app and not the PC version specifically.
  • The core function of "Looping" a video clip (repeating it) is definitely possible on CapCut PC. However, CapCut PC achieves this using a different method than a dedicated "Loop" button under "Trim."

How to loop a clip in CapCut PC?

Since you are on PC, here are the ways to achieve the effect you want:

1. Copy and paste the clip multiple times - simplest looping method:

This is the most straightforward way to loop a clip in CapCut PC:

  1. Select the clip in your timeline that you want to loop.
  2. Copy the clip: You can right-click on the clip and choose "Copy" or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + C.
  3. Paste the clip: Position your timeline cursor at the point where you want the loop to begin (immediately after the original clip or wherever you want the repetition). Right-click in the timeline and choose "Paste" or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + V.
  4. Repeat: Paste the clip as many times as needed to create the desired loop length.

Example: If you want to loop a 5-second clip three times, you would copy it and paste it two more times after the original, creating a 15-second sequence of the clip playing repeatedly.

For a step-by-step guide, consider watching the below video:

2. Using "Speed" feature - for looping within a clip's duration - Time-Lapse/Slow-Mo Style loop:

If you want to create a looping effect within the duration of a single clip (like a rewind and repeat, or a back-and-forth effect), you might be thinking of using the "Speed" feature in combination with copying and reversing clips.

This is a more advanced technique, but if this is the type of "loop" you were aiming for, let us know, and we can provide steps for that. However, for simple repetition, copy-pasting is usually sufficient.

Where to find "Trim" option in CapCut PC - if you were looking for basic trim:

While CapCut's mobile version offers a "Trim" option, the PC version utilizes a more direct approach:

  • Trimming via "Clip Edges":

    • Import your video and add it to the timeline.
    • Hover your mouse over the beginning or end of the video clip until a double-sided arrow appears.
    • Click and drag inward to remove unwanted sections.
  • Trimming via "Split and Delete":

    • Place the playhead at the point where you want to cut.
    • Right-click and select "Split," or use the "Split" button above the timeline.
    • Delete the unwanted segment by selecting it and pressing the "Delete" key.

Note on feature availability:

It is possible that certain features or their labels have changed in recent updates. If you are unable to find specific options, ensure that your software is up-to-date.

We hope this clarifies how to trim and loop videos in CapCut on your PC.

Try the copy-paste method for looping your clip. If you were aiming for a different kind of "loop" effect, or if you are still having trouble finding basic "Trim" functions, please give us more details about what you are trying to achieve, and we will guide you further.
