Hi all,
I have used Capcut in several instances to generate a video and I could replace video clips with tons of video clips within Capcut however recently there are not many video clips within the app. Is anyone else having the same issue ? If anyone has solved this issue, can you please help me how can I access the video clips with large selection like before?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers!
Hi,
It seems you are noticing a change in the video clip selection within CapCut, which can impact your video editing workflow. Let us see why you might be seeing fewer video clips and how to potentially access a larger selection.
Here is what could be happening and how to address it:
Possible reasons for a reduced video clip selection in CapCut:
- Changes to CapCut's content library: It is possible CapCut has made changes to its built-in video clip library. Content libraries for apps can be updated, and sometimes selections can be rotated, reduced, or reorganized.
- Content region/licensing: The availability of certain video clips might be region-dependent due to licensing agreements. If there have been changes to these agreements in your region, it could affect the library you see.
- Content moved or re-categorized: The clips might still be there, but perhaps they have been moved to a different category or section within the app. Explore different areas within CapCut where video clips are usually located to see if you can find a wider selection.
- Temporary glitch: It could be a temporary issue or bug within the CapCut app itself. Software glitches can sometimes affect content loading or display. Check back again later to see if the video selection is back.
- App update issue: If you recently updated CapCut, the update process might have encountered a problem that affected the content library.
- Misunderstanding of content source: It is important to notice where you were accessing these video clips before. Were they part of a specific "stock video" section within CapCut, or were you perhaps importing them from a linked account or another source?
Troubleshooting steps and how to potentially access more video clips:
-
Explore different sections within CapCut:
- Carefully navigate through all the menus and sections in CapCut where you would typically find video clips. Look for categories like "Stock Videos," "Library," "Assets," or similar.
- See if the clips are now organized differently or located in a less obvious place.
-
Check for CapCut updates:
- Ensure you are running the very latest version of CapCut. CapCut updates include bug fixes and can refresh content libraries. Check for updates in your device's app store (Google Play Store or Apple App Store) or the CapCut website if you are on a computer.
-
Restart CapCut and your device:
- Close the CapCut app completely and restart it.
- Restart your phone, tablet, or computer. This can resolve temporary software glitches.
-
Reinstall CapCut:
- If other steps don't work, you could try uninstalling and then reinstalling CapCut. This ensures you have a fresh installation of the app. Back up any important CapCut projects before uninstalling, as they might be removed.

Explore third-party stock video sites:
- If the built-in library is indeed reduced, remember that you can always import your own video clips into CapCut. There are numerous websites that offer free stock videos that you can download and use in your CapCut projects. Some popular options include:

It is possible that CapCut has intentionally changed its built-in video clip library. Try the troubleshooting steps above to see if it's a temporary issue or if the clips have simply moved. If the built-in selection is indeed smaller, using external stock video websites is a great alternative for expanding your video clip options in CapCut.
