Hi,

If you're unable to search for "In Effect" or access other options in CapCut, especially on PC, here are some common fixes to help you troubleshoot and solve the issue:

1. Check if You're in the Right Mode

CapCut has two modes: Storyboard mode (simple) and Timeline mode (advanced). Some features like Effects, Keyframes, and Transitions only appear in Timeline mode.

Solution:

  • Click “Switch to Timeline Mode” if you're in the simple Storyboard view.

2. Update CapCut to the Latest Version

An outdated version may cause missing features or glitches.

Solution:

  • Open CapCut.

  • Go to the top-right corner → click the settings gear or menu → select Check for Updates.

  • If an update is available, install it and restart CapCut.

3. Clear Cache/Data (Without Losing Projects)

Corrupted cache files can cause options to be grayed out or disappear.

Solution:

  • In CapCut PC:

    • Go to Settings > Storage > Click Clear Cache.

  • Don't worry: clearing the cache does not delete your projects.

4. Check Internet Connection & Account Login

Some effects (especially online or Pro effects) require a stable internet connection and login.

Solution:

  • Ensure you’re logged into your CapCut account.

  • Check that you're connected to the internet.

5. Reinstall CapCut (If All Else Fails)

If the above steps don’t help, you may need to reinstall CapCut.

Missing Search Function for Stickers and Overlays

I have recently encountered an issue in the CapCut app — the search function for finding overlays and stickers is no longer visible. This makes it impossible for me to search by keywords, and I can only access the elements that are displayed in the default categories.

This functionality is very important for my workflow, and I would greatly appreciate it if you could let me know:

Whether this is a known issue or a recent update.

If there is any way to restore the search function.

I am using the app on iPhone 15. with the latest version of the app installed.

The disappearance of the search function for overlays and stickers in the CapCut app is a known issue that has affected users across various platforms, including iOS. Many users have reported this problem, particularly after recent updates to the app.

While there isn't an official fix from CapCut yet, you can find these temporary solutions:

  • Restart the App or Device: Completely closing and reopening the CapCut app, or restarting your iPhone, can help restore the search functionality.

  • Use the Web Version: Accessing CapCut through a web browser may still provide the search feature. You can search for stickers and overlays there, add them to your favorites, and then access them in the mobile app.

If these solutions don't work, it's advisable to reach out to CapCut's support team directly. You can contact them via email at [email protected] or through CapCut's official social media channels. Providing details about your device (iPhone 15) and the app version may help them address the issue more effectively.

Keep an eye on the App Store for any updates to CapCut, as future releases may resolve this issue. Additionally, monitoring CapCut's official social media pages can provide updates on known issues and fixes.

If you need assistance with using the web version or have other questions, please feel free to ask.
