I am using the free PC version and I'm having trouble locating the Setting.

Various YouTube videos show it is under Menu/Settings, but I don't have a Menu option.

Thanks

Hi,

Certain features, including the settings menu, may be missing or vary depending on the device's hardware configuration, particularly the graphics card.

Possible reasons why you might not be seeing the settings menu:

  • Hardware Variations: CapCut's functionality differs between devices, due to differences in graphics hardware. For instance, features available on a desktop with an Nvidia graphics card might be absent on a laptop with integrated Intel graphics.

Where to look for the "settings" option?

"Menu" options is generally where you'll find the settings feature on CapCut PC, but it's possible the interface has been updated or you might be overlooking it.

Try these steps to find the settings in your CapCut PC application:

  •  Look for a Gear Icon: Settings are generally accessed through a gear-shaped icon. Look at the top corners (top-left or top-right) of your CapCut window. Do you see a gear icon? If so, click on it. This is the most likely place for settings if you don't see a "Menu."
  • "Menu" at the Top Left (File Menu): Even if it doesn't say "Menu", look at the very top-left of the CapCut application window. Is there a "File" option or a similar word? Click on "File." Sometimes, applications hide the settings within the "File" menu under names like "Preferences" or "Options."
  • Right-Click in the Project Area: In the main editing area of CapCut (where you see your timeline or project clips), try right-clicking with your mouse. Right-clicking brings up a context menu, and settings might be listed there.
  • Check your Profile/Account Icon: Look for your profile picture or a generic account icon in the top corner. Clicking on this sometimes reveals account settings, and general application settings might be located there as well.
  • "Back to Home Page" and then Profile: You can try "Menu > Back to home page" option, and then finding your profile in a newly opened window. Try to see if you can find a "Back to home page" option, possibly within a "File" or similar menu. If you find a home page, look for your profile icon there.

If you have checked all of these places and still can't find "Settings," it's possible that the free version has a simplified settings menu, or the YouTube videos you watched are outdated.

Recommended Actions:

  • Update Graphics Drivers: Ensure that your graphics drivers are up to date. Updated drivers can resolve compatibility issues and might restore missing features.
  • Reinstall CapCut: Uninstall the current version of CapCut from your PC, then download and install the latest version from the CapCut website. This can help in resolving issues caused by corrupted installations.
  • Use CapCut Online: If reinstalling doesn't resolve the issue, consider using the CapCut online video editor. The online version offers a comprehensive set of features and might serve as a suitable alternative.
  • Contact CapCut Support: If the problem persists, reach out to app support at [email protected] who can provide you with assistance tailored to your specific situation.

We hope these suggestions assist you in resolving the issue.

Could you describe what you see at the top of your CapCut application window? Are there any words or icons at the very top left or right? Knowing what you see will help us give you more specific directions.
