Slow Zoom Effect Not Working
Did someone noticed that the Slow Zoom effect isn't showing the adjustments bars anymore after the latest update?
Before it used to display bar options to adjust the RANGE, SPEED, HORIZONTAL and VERTICAL.
This is the effect I use the most on my videos and it's really annoying that I can adjust the bars anymore. Is it happening only with me?
Hi,
You are not alone in experiencing issues like this after CapCut app updates. Sometimes features get changed, moved, or unfortunately, bugs get introduced. Here's a breakdown of possibilities and what you can try:
- Feature Relocation/Change: CapCut may have redesigned how adjustments for certain effects work.
- Check Carefully: When you apply the "Slow Zoom" effect, look very closely at the timeline and the settings panels. Is there a new button, icon (like a small graph, sliders, or "Adjust" text), or menu that might now contain those controls? Sometimes they aren't immediately obvious.
- Different Effect Name?: Is it possible the effect with adjustable bars has been renamed, or there's a similar new effect that now offers those controls? Browse the effects library again.

Alternative: Keyframes: While not as convenient as the preset bars, you can manually replicate a slow zoom using keyframes. This gives you precise control:
- Select the clip on your timeline.
- Move the playhead to where you want the zoom to start.
- Tap the keyframe button (usually looks like a diamond shape, often near the scale/position properties). This sets the initial scale and position.
- Move the playhead to where you want the zoom to end.
- Adjust the clip's scale (zoom in) and position (to keep the subject centered if needed). A new keyframe will automatically be added.
- CapCut will now smoothly animate the zoom between these two keyframes. You can add more keyframes for more complex movements.
- For smoother transitions, use the Graphs feature to modify the speed curve.

Applying the Zoom Lens Effect:
-
Select your video clip in the timeline.
-
Tap on "Effects" and choose "Video Effects."
-
Navigate to the "Basic" category and select "Zoom Lens."
-
Tap "Adjust" to customize parameters like Speed and Range.
-
Apply the effect and adjust its duration by dragging its edges on the timeline.
