I have to edit a bunch of videos for person a but when I log onto persons a account it doesn’t come up so I put it on the workspace but because I previously logged into my own TikTok account despite logging out it merged the projects together
Im worried it’ll be the case for person c and d when I start editing their videos too if that makes sense
despite using different logins
would pro solve this problem
Hi,
We understand your situation. It is definitely concerning when projects seem to merge or appear across different accounts, especially when managing work for multiple clients. This can lead to confusion and potential privacy issues.
Let us break down what might be happening and whether CapCut Pro could help:
Understanding the Problem: Why Might Projects Merge?
What you are describing is how CapCut is handling sessions, caching, or synchronization on your device (computer or phone). Here are a few possibilities:
- Caching Issues: Even after logging out, the CapCut application (desktop or mobile) or your web browser might retain some cached data from the previous session. When you log into the new account (Person A's), this leftover data might cause interference or incorrectly display projects.
- Incomplete Logout/Session Handling: The logout process might not be completely clearing all session information within the app instance before you log in again.
- Synchronization Glitches: There could be a temporary bug in CapCut's cloud synchronization that incorrectly associates projects, especially if you switch accounts quickly.
- Workspace Confusion: While Workspaces are meant for collaboration, ensure you are definitively logged out of your personal account before accessing Person A's account and their specific Workspace. Make sure you aren't accidentally logged into both or have linked them unintentionally.
Will This Happen with Persons C and D?
Yes, it's quite possible. If the underlying issue is related to caching or session handling on your device or within your instance of the CapCut app, the same problem could occur when you start working with accounts for Person C and Person D. The root cause needs to be addressed.
Would CapCut Pro Solve This Problem?
This issue is not likely to be solved using CapCut PRO. CapCut Pro primarily offers:
- Access to more advanced editing features (effects, transitions, animations).
- A wider library of stock assets (videos, music, stickers).
- Increased cloud storage space.
- Removal of the CapCut watermark on exports.
- Faster cloud rendering/processing.
While Pro might be associated with CapCut for Business features (which are designed for team collaboration and managing multiple assets/projects), the core problem you're describing – projects bleeding between separate, distinct logins due to potential caching or session issues – is not something that upgrading to Pro is designed to fix directly. It sounds more like a technical glitch or a local environment problem on your end.
What Should You Do? (Troubleshooting Steps)
- Clear Cache:
- Desktop App: Look for options within CapCut's settings to clear the cache. If not obvious, you might need to manually find and clear the cache folder for CapCut on your computer's file system (location varies by OS).
- Mobile App: Go to your phone's settings, find the CapCut app, and clear its cache.
- Web Browser: Clear your browser's cache and cookies, specifically for the CapCut website.
- Ensure Full Logout & Restart: Don't just log out. After logging out of an account, completely close the CapCut application (or browser tab/window) and then restart it before logging into the next account. This helps ensure the previous session is fully terminated.
- Use Different Browser Profiles (if using Web): If you're using CapCut Web, create separate browser profiles (in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, etc.) for each client (and yourself). Logging into CapCut within a specific profile keeps cookies and sessions completely isolated from other profiles. Alternatively, use Incognito/Private Browse windows for each session, but profiles are better for ongoing work.
- Double-Check Workspace Membership: Ensure your personal CapCut account hasn't accidentally been invited to or joined Person A's Workspace, and vice-versa. Keep workspaces tied strictly to the relevant client login.
- Consider CapCut for Business: While Pro itself will not fix this, look into "CapCut for Business". This platform is specifically designed for teams and agencies managing multiple projects and potentially clients. It might offer a more robust structure for keeping things separate, though it often involves a subscription (potentially linked to Pro or a separate tier). This is more of a structural change than a fix for the immediate glitch, however.
- Contact CapCut Technical Support: If the problem persists after trying these steps, it could be a bug. Reach out to CapCut technical support by writing an email to capcut.support@bytedance.com, explain the situation clearly (multiple separate accounts, project bleed-over despite logout/login), and see if they have a solution or are aware of the issue.
To effectively manage and collaborate on projects for different clients, consider utilizing CapCut's "Workspace" feature. This allows you to create separate spaces for each client, facilitating organized collaboration without the risk of project merging. Here's how you can set it up:
-
Create a Space for Each Client:
-
Navigate to CapCut Workspace and click on "Create new space."
-
Name the space appropriately (e.g., "Client A Projects").
-
Invite relevant team members or clients by entering their email addresses.
-
-
Manage Permissions:
-
Assign roles such as Admin or Collaborator to control access and editing rights within each space.
-
-
Collaborative Editing:
-
Upload and edit projects within the designated space.
-
Transfer editing permissions as needed among team members.
-
Note that only one person can edit a video at a time to prevent conflicts.
-
By structuring your workflow with dedicated spaces for each client, you can maintain clear boundaries between projects, reducing the risk of unintended merging. While CapCut Pro offers additional features like increased cloud storage and advanced editing tools, it does not specifically address multi-account management concerns. Therefore, leveraging the Workspace feature is your best approach to managing multiple client projects effectively
In summary: Upgrading to Pro is unlikely to solve this specific login/project separation issue. Focus on troubleshooting steps like clearing cache, ensuring full logouts/restarts, and potentially using browser profiles to maintain session integrity. The goal is to ensure each client's environment is completely isolated when you log in with their credentials.
