HI I really love Capcut Shorts Tool but somehow it doesn't work like it should. If I upload a video, it generates like always the shorts. But then when I like to click on them they doesn't load, so the Video doesn't play. I tried to fix it by logging out and login in also I deinstalled the program but still Its the same issue. Just one out of ten work of the generated shorts is able to view.
Hi,
It is surprising that CapCut Shorts Tool isn't working correctly for you, especially after you have already tried some troubleshooting steps. Let us explore some potential reasons why the generated shorts might not be loading and playing properly, and what you can do to fix it.
Here are a few possibilities and troubleshooting steps to try:
1. Check your internet connection:
- Reason: Even though the Shorts Tool is part of the desktop application, these features rely on a stable internet connection, especially for loading and playing generated content, or accessing online resources.
- Solution:
- Verify connection: Ensure you have a stable and active internet connection. Try opening a website or running an internet speed test to confirm your connection is working correctly.
- Restart router/modem: If your internet connection is unstable, try restarting your modem and router.
- Try a different network: If possible, test CapCut on a different network (e.g., mobile hotspot) to rule out issues with your primary network.
2. CapCut application issues:
- Reason: There might be a temporary glitch within the CapCut application itself, or a problem with the specific installation.
- Solution:
- Restart CapCut: Completely close the CapCut application and relaunch it. Make sure it's fully closed and not just minimized in the background.
- Restart your computer: A full computer restart can sometimes resolve temporary software glitches that a simple application restart might miss.
- Check for CapCut updates: Ensure you are using the latest version of CapCut. Outdated versions can sometimes have bugs. Check for updates within the CapCut application itself (usually in the settings or menu).
- Reinstall CapCut: When you uninstall, make sure to:
- Completely uninstall: Use the official uninstaller (through Windows "Apps & Features" or Mac "Applications" folder).
- Delete leftover files: After uninstalling, manually check the installation folder (usually in Program Files on Windows or Applications on Mac) and delete any remaining CapCut folders or files. Also, check your Documents or User folders for any CapCut related folders and delete them.
- Restart computer after uninstall: Restart your computer after uninstalling before reinstalling.
- Reinstall from official source: Download the latest version of CapCut from the official CapCut website again to ensure you have a clean and complete installation.
3. Known Issues with the Long-to-Short Video Feature:
-
At times there can be problem with CapCut's long-to-short video functionality, including endless update loops and shorts not loading properly. A workaround for this might be:
-
Opening CapCut without selecting the previously created short project.
-
Clicking the "long video to short video" button again.
-
In the new window, locating and opening the short project from the last session.
-
Exporting the video using the YouTube tab.
-
After exporting, selecting "edit more" to enter the editing mode as intended.
-
4. System performance and resources:
- Reason: If your computer is running low on resources (RAM, storage space), it might struggle to load and play video content smoothly within CapCut, especially if the Shorts Tool is generating many previews at once.
- Solution:
- Check system requirements: Ensure your computer meets the minimum system requirements for CapCut. You can find these on the CapCut download page (link provided above).
- Close unnecessary applications: Close any other applications running in the background that you are not actively using. This frees up system resources for CapCut.
- Check storage space: Make sure you have enough free storage space on your hard drive, especially on the drive where CapCut is installed and where your project files are saved. Low storage can cause performance issues.
- Check RAM Usage: Open Task Manager (Windows: Ctrl+Shift+Esc, Mac: Cmd+Space, type "Activity Monitor") and monitor your RAM usage while using CapCut. If RAM usage is consistently very high (close to 100%), you might need to close more applications or consider upgrading your RAM if possible.
5. Video file and project issues:
- Reason: The original video file you are uploading or the CapCut project file itself might be corrupted or have some issues that are causing problems with the Shorts Tool.
- Solution:
- Try a different video file: Upload a different, simpler video file to the Shorts Tool and see if the generated shorts load and play correctly. This helps determine if the issue is specific to a particular video file.
- Create a new CapCut project: Start a new CapCut project and try using the Shorts Tool in that new project. This can rule out project-specific corruption.
- Check video file format: Ensure your video file is in a commonly supported format by CapCut (like MP4, MOV). While CapCut usually supports various formats, sometimes compatibility issues can arise. Try converting your video to MP4 if it's in a different format.
6. Software conflicts:
- Reason: In rare cases, other software installed on your computer, especially security software like antivirus or firewalls, might interfere with CapCut's operation.
- Solution:
- Temporarily disable antivirus/firewall: Temporarily disable your antivirus software or Windows Defender Firewall and try using the Shorts Tool again. Important: Only do this for testing purposes and remember to re-enable your security software immediately afterward. If this resolves the issue, you'll need to configure your antivirus/firewall to allow CapCut to run properly (create exceptions or allow rules for CapCut).
If none of the above steps work, it is best to contact CapCut's technical support channel. They might be aware of a bug in the Shorts Tool or have more specific troubleshooting steps for your situation. Send a message at [email protected] and explain this situation. Provide any screenshot or short videos explaining the problem might help.
So start with the basic steps like checking your internet, restarting, and reinstalling. Then, move on to checking system resources, trying different video files, and finally considering software conflicts and reach out to CapCut technical support if needed.
