Many users, including myself, face difficulty finding caption templates again after using them once. There is currently no “Add to Favorites” or “Save” option for caption templates. Because of this, we have to scroll and search again, which is time-consuming and frustrating.
I kindly request that you consider adding an **“Add to Favorites” option for caption templates**, similar to other favorite or saved features. This would greatly improve user experience, especially for creators who use the same caption styles repeatedly.
Thank you for your time and for continuously improving CapCut. I really appreciate your work and hope you will consider this feature request.
Hi,
CapCut’s library is massive, and losing a great caption style after hours of scrolling is a real problem.
1. The "Star" Method (Mobile & PC)
Most assets in CapCut, including many text and caption templates, can be favorited using the Star icon.
-
How to do it: When you are browsing the Text Templates or Captions library, look for a small star in the corner of the template thumbnail before you apply it.
-
Where to find them: Once starred, they move to a dedicated Favorites tab (marked with a star icon) at the very beginning of the template categories.
2. Save as a "Preset" (Best for PC Users)
If you are on the Desktop version, you can actually save your customized caption styles as a Preset. This is even better than favoriting because it saves your specific font, color, and size adjustments too.
-
How to do it: Select your caption on the timeline. In the Text settings panel on the right, look for the "Save as preset" button (usually near the style/font settings).
-
Why it helps: Your custom style will now appear under the "Presets" category every time you open a new project.
3. Use the "Last Used" Shortcut
CapCut keeps your most recently used styles at the top of the "System" or "Template" list under a "Recent" category. If you just used it in your current session, check the very first row of the style library.
4. The "Cloud Space" Workaround
If you have a caption style you love and want to use across different devices:
-
Save a 5-second "Master Project" containing just one text box with that template applied.
-
Upload this project to your CapCut Cloud Space.
-
Whenever you start a new video, open that master project, copy the text box, and paste it into your new edit. This "copy-paste" method carries the template style over instantly.
Setting up a Master Style Project is the ultimate pro move. It turns a "lost" template into a permanent asset that lives in your CapCut Cloud, ready to be "stolen" for any new video you make.
Here is how to set it up:
Phase 1: Create Your "Vault"
-
Start a New Project: Name it something obvious like
!!! CAPTION VAULT. -
Add Your Templates: Find the caption templates you love and add them to the timeline. You don't need a video background; a simple black screen or transparent background is fine.
-
Customize Them: Adjust the font, stroke, glow, or animation to exactly how you like them.
-
Label Them: Add a little plain text note above each one (e.g., "My Gaming Style" or "Minimalist Vlog") so you know which is which at a glance.
Phase 2: Move to the Cloud
-
Exit to the Home Screen: CapCut auto-saves your work.
-
Upload to Space: * On Mobile: Tap the three dots
...next to your project name and select "Upload to Cloud Space."-
On PC: Click the "Cloud" icon next to your project name in the project list.
-
-
The Result: This project is now pinned to your account. Even if you delete CapCut and reinstall it, your templates are safe.
Phase 3: How to Use It (The "Copy-Paste" Trick)
When you are working on a new video and want one of those "favorited" styles:
-
Open your Vault project from the Cloud tab.
-
Select and Copy: Tap the caption clip on the timeline and hit Copy.
-
Switch Projects: Go back to your new video project.
-
Paste: Hit Paste on the timeline.
-
Apply to All: If you already have "Auto Captions" generated in your new video, you can use the "Apply to all" toggle in the text settings to instantly turn all your boring captions into your "Vault" style.
