I'm a regular CapCut user and I love the features the platform offers. However, I have a question: I would like to create my own templates to use in my projects, but I can't find this option anywhere on the platform.
I've looked for tutorials and guides, but I haven't found anything specific about how to create custom templates. Could you please guide me on how to do this? Is there a resource or tutorial available that I can follow?
Thank you very much for your help!
Creating custom templates in CapCut is a common request by many users. However, the app does not currently provide a direct "template creation" feature. Still there are a few ways to work around this limitation.
CapCut’s template system mainly focuses on using pre-made templates. It doesn’t yet have a built-in feature that allows users to create and share their own templates publicly.
How to approach this issue:
Creating a master template project files: This method is the closest alternative to creating templates.
- Create a New Project: In CapCut, start by creating a new project and adding all the effects, transitions, text styles, and elements that you want to reuse.
- Save as project: Once you have everything set up, save it as a project file. This file will serve as your "master template."
- Duplicate for new videos: When you want to use this template again, simply duplicate the master project. This allows you to modify the duplicate without affecting the original template. Just replace the placeholder content (like videos, images, and text) with your new media.
Just see the below video tutorial for custom template workaround in CapCut:
Creating your own template library:
- If you develop a set of effects or transitions you like, consider creating a tutorial (either text or video) that explains how to recreate them. This tutorial can serve as your personal guide for future projects.
- While building your effects, record your screen. These recordings can act as quick reference guides for later.
Share this template with the community:
- Tutorials: You can share your editing techniques and specific effects via tutorials on platforms like YouTube or TikTok. Though not a true template, these tutorials help others and your audience to recreate your style.
- Project files sharing: It is also possible to share your CapCut master project files with others using a link.
Why is there no direct template creation option?
- Complexity: Implementing a comprehensive template creation and sharing system within CapCut would be a complex task. However, the development team is likely looking at this request and you might get this direct feature in upcoming releases.
- Copyright/licensing: Managing user-generated templates and ensuring they don’t violate copyright would present significant challenges.
- CapCut aims to keep its interface simple and user-friendly. Adding a full-fledged template creation system might introduce unnecessary complexity.
While CapCut doesn't currently offer a direct "create template" feature, using master project files and creating your own step-by-step guides are effective workarounds. Keep in mind that CapCut’s features evolve, so template creation functionality might be added in the future.
