The templates and effects used to work on my app for a few weeks before the app started claiming i have no internet connection. A few times the templates have randomly worked and then stopped working. Also, it wont let me sign in in any way.

Hi,

The intermittent template functionality you are experiencing suggests a network or server-side problem. The inability to sign in further supports this.

Try the below steps in that particular order:

1. Check your internet connection

Before assuming it’s a CapCut issue, ensure your internet is stable:

  • Test Other Apps: Try using other apps that require an internet connection. If they also struggle to connect, the issue is likely with your network, not CapCut.
  • Network Stability: Even if other apps work, your connection might be unstable. Try these fixes:
    • Restart your router/modem (unplug, wait 30 seconds, then plug back in).
    • Connect to a different Wi-Fi network if possible.
    • Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data to see if the issue persists.
    • Check for outages using websites like DownDetector to see if your internet provider or CapCut’s servers are down.

2. CapCut-specific problems and solutions

If your internet is fine, the issue may be within CapCut itself:

  • App updates: Open your device’s app store (Google Play or Apple App Store) and check for available updates. Updates often include bug fixes.
  • Clear Cache & Data:
    • Go to Settings > Apps > CapCut > Storage.
    • Tap Clear Cache first. If that doesn’t work, try Clear Data (this may delete unsaved projects, so back them up first).
  • Reinstall CapCut:
    • Uninstall the app from your device.
    • Reinstall it from the app store to fix any corrupted files.
  • Check app permissions:
    • Go to Settings > Apps > CapCut > Permissions and ensure it has internet access.
  • Try using or disabling a VPN:
    • Enable a VPN to test if the issue is region-specific.
    • Disable your VPN if you're already using one, as it may interfere with connections.

3. Account & login issues

If CapCut won’t let you sign in, try:

  • Resetting your password if you’ve logged in before.
  • Using third-party login options (Google, tiktok,  Facebook, etc.) instead of a direct email login based CapCut account.
  • Checking CapCut’s social media for any known server issues or maintenance.

4. Device compatibility

Though unlikely, if CapCut worked before, verify that your device still meets CapCut’s system requirements. A recent OS update may have caused compatibility issues.

5. CapCut support system

If none of the above fixes work, reach out to CapCut’s customer support at capcut.support@bytedancom. you will get insights specific to your device or region. Do not forget to mention about device details and country where you are using capcut from.

Other important points to note:

  • Back up your projects before clearing data or reinstalling the app, as these steps may erase them.
  • Intermittent issues suggest a network or server problem: If CapCut works sometimes but not consistently, the issue might resolve itself. However, persistent login issues need further investigation.

Start with internet connection checks, then move to CapCut-specific fixes, and finally, troubleshoot account and device compatibility. If the issue persists, contacting CapCut support is your best option.
