The Windows (desktop) version of CapCut does not currently offer the templates feature that’s available on the mobile app. In other words, you’re not missing anything on your end it’s simply a limitation of the current PC version. 

Why is templates available on CapCut mobile but not on PC application?

• Mobile-first design: CapCut has been originally designed as a mobile app, and many of its core features, including templates, were developed with the mobile experience in mind.
• Resource optimization: Templates often involve complex effects and transitions that may require significant processing power. Mobile devices are generally better optimized for handling such tasks compared to PCs, which can have varying hardware configurations.
• User Behavior: CapCut's target audience often prefers creating and editing videos on their mobile devices, where they can easily capture footage and share it on social media platforms directly.
• While CapCut's PC version doesn't currently offer templates, it still provides a wide range of editing tools and features that you can use to create stunning videos.

What can you do to access CapCut templates from PC?

• Access via the Website:
  You can visit capcut.com/templates on your browser to browse available templates. Here you can directly use all the templates available on CapCut. Though this might not offer the same integrated experience as the mobile app. However, you can apply the required template, download it and then re-export it back in the CapCut PC version.

• Use the mobile app:
  If templates are essential for your projects, consider using the mobile version of CapCut, where the feature is fully supported.

• Check for updates:
  Developers frequently roll out updates. Keep an eye on any new versions or official announcements from CapCut regarding feature parity between the desktop and mobile apps.

The absence of templates on your Windows installation of CapCut is a known limitation of the desktop version rather than an issue with your installation. Currently you will need to directly access CapCut on the web browser in order to apply the template. However, you can download this edit and continue further edits on the PC application by importing the same project.
