Hi,

Clearing the cache in CapCut PC, even if it's a large amount like 20GB, will not delete your projects.

Clearing the cache in CapCut PC only removes temporary files that the app uses to run faster. These files include things like downloaded stickers, effects, and fonts. Your actual projects are stored separately and are not affected by clearing the cache.

Clearing the cache in your CapCut PC application can help resolve performance issues, such as frequent crashes when using features like camera tracking.

The cache typically stores temporary files, including clips, videos, and other downloaded content, which can accumulate over time and consume significant storage space.

Clearing this cache should not delete your saved projects.

However, it's always a good practice to back up your important projects before performing such operations to prevent any unintended data loss.

Here is what you should know about clearing cache in CapCut PC:

  •  Projects are safe: Clearing the cache is designed to improve performance and free up space without impacting your saved video projects.
  • Downloaded resources may need to be re-downloaded: After clearing the cache, you might need to re-download stickers, effects, and other materials if you want to use them again in future projects.
  • Performance improvement: Clearing the cache can help CapCut run more smoothly, especially if you're experiencing lagging or crashing issues, which seems to be your case after using the camera tracking feature.

How to clear cache:

  • Open CapCut PC.
  • Click on the Settings icon (found in the top right corner).
  • Click on Settings again in the menu.
  • Go to the Draft or Cache section (the location might be slightly different depending on your CapCut version, but look for a setting related to cache).
  • You should see the Cache size and a trash bin icon next to it. Click on the trash bin icon to clear the cache.
  • Confirm by clicking Okay when prompted.
  • Click Save to apply the changes.

Clearing the cache is a safe step to try and resolve crashing issues in CapCut and should not result in any project loss.

It is a good practice to clear your cache periodically to maintain optimal app performance.
