Hello, Capcut! I was just wondering if you are planning to add motion tracking feature (face, body, hands tracking) also on desktop.

Hi,

CapCut has made great progress with its motion tracking feature, and it's easier than ever to use. Here's how you can add motion tracking for faces, bodies, and hands on both CapCut mobile and PC applications:

1. Import your video:

  • Open CapCut and start a new project. Import the video clip you want to apply motion tracking to.

2. Access motion tracking features:

  • Mobile:
    • Select your video clip in the timeline.
    • Tap on "Edit" at the bottom.
    • Look for "Motion Tracking" under "AI Tools" section.
  • PC:
    • Select your video clip in the timeline.
    • In the right-hand panel, you'll find "Motion Tracking" under "Video" or "AI Tools."

3. Choose your tracking target:

  • CapCut allows you to choose from following tracking features:
    • Face: Tracks facial movements.
    • Body: Tracks the overall movement of the body.
    • Hands: Tracks hand movements.

4. Start tracking:

  • Once you select your target (face, body, or hands), CapCut will analyze the video and start tracking the movement. You may need to adjust the tracking box to ensure it is following the correct object.

5. Apply effects:

  • Now that the tracking is set, you can link various effects, text, stickers, or other elements to the tracked object. These will follow the face, body, or hands that you tracked.

Other tips for best results:

  • Clear Footage: Use clear, well-lit footage for best results. Motion tracking works best when the tracked subject is distinct from the background.
  • High Contrast: A high-contrast subject (e.g., dark object against a light background) is easier to track.
  • Stable Footage: Stable footage makes tracking more accurate. Try to minimize camera shake.
  • Adjust Tracking Points: If tracking isn't perfect, you can adjust the tracking points manually frame by frame.
  • Shorter Segments: For fast or complex movements, try splitting your video into shorter segments and applying tracking to each one separately.

What you can do with motion tracking:

  • Attach Text: Add text that follows the movement of a face, body, or hand. This is great for dynamic captions or labels.
  • Add Stickers/Graphics: Make stickers or graphics move with your tracked object, adding fun or informative elements.
  • Create Special Effects: Apply effects linked to the tracked object, such as spotlighting a dancer or blurring a fast-moving car.
  • Enhance Visuals: Use motion tracking to highlight specific objects or areas in your video.

Important notes:

  • Accuracy: While motion tracking is powerful, it’s not always perfect, especially with complex movements. Be prepared to adjust the tracking manually if needed.
  • Experiment: Play around with different effects and settings to create the best look for your video.

With CapCut's motion tracking capabilities, you can easily enhance your videos and add dynamic, engaging elements. Experiment and have fun with it.
